How is his surname pronounced? Highlights reels contain at least two options and I'm not confident in either
If his decision making looks a bit dicey in his highlights clip…The video highlights look pretty good, certainly moves well for his size. His dominance in the ruck and marking contests needs to be viewed in context of undersized opponents, decision making looks a bit dicey.
Love it. He was one of my favourites. Some risk to it as he hasn't been a full time key forward which he's likely to be moving into - fewer runs on the board there. Also, predominantly dominated a poor Colts comp, was just okay at the Champs. But the traits are excellent, lovely mover (high placing in the agility test at the combine), one of the best kicks in the pool and capable on either foot. Has shown through the second half of the season an increasing willingness to launch at (and hold on to) contented marks. Obviously a massive frame on him, should end up a monster once some of the puppy fat turns into muscle.are you pretty happy with this pick?
Maybe some inside info on neck length? Why would you say this?
Hille was underrated at the time, and still is. Great skills for a big man (his kicking on the run for a ruckam was unreal).david hille vibes for me. very underrated as a forward hille.
When his dad played WAFL in the 90s they pronounced it Jerr-ryanHow is his surname pronounced? Highlights reels contain at least two options and I'm not confident in either
COULD?WE COULD PLAY HIM ON A WING
Yep. No bean pole about this young bloke.Looks built for repeat punishment
It’s for this reason that I feel underwhelmed by his career. Had all the attributes to be a dominant force but never really got there. Knee injury was a setback but he teased as a top level ruck/forward.Hille was underrated at the time, and still is. Great skills for a big man (his kicking on the run for a ruckam was unreal).
he did not ever teased as a top level ruck? ludicrous. his most dominant games were something I don't think cox even topped, some of them were against cox. It’s for this reason that I feel underwhelmed by his career. Not even remotely close to Cox as a player. Look, I liked Hille, and his career is probably underrated, but the mere fact that he had the attributes to be our Dean Cox but never got close, is to me underwhelming. That’s just my take on it. He had a solid career and I’m sure many will disagree with me.he did not ever teased as a top level ruck? ludicrous. his most dominant games were something I don't think cox even topped, some of them were against cox.
My favourite memory of David Hille was at a Cut Copy gig at the Hi Fi bar pretty early on in his career and he wasn’t at the point where he would get recognised a lot when out and about. He seemed to be there on his own so I bought him a Carlton Draught stubby and had a chat. I then went on with my night with my friends and later on he went to the bar and returned with premium beers for me and my friends. Ripper bloke. Good taste in music. I think the car accident down on the peninsula had a profound effect on him .Not even remotely close to Cox as a player. He did lack that killer instinct a bit. It’s for this reason that I feel underwhelmed by his career. Had all the attributes to be a dominant force but never really got there. Knee injury was a setback but he teased as a top level ruck/forward.
Are there question marks re his commitment and competitiveness? This bloke has all the intangibles to play afl, but it will all depend on his commitment levels and competitiveness.
His frame excites me, might even fill out to Briggs size.
I don’t know anything about him other than highlights packages, but love what i have seen. If we get this guy to fill out and he’s an aggressive and competitive beast, look out.Are there question marks re his commitment and competitiveness?
