OK, I've removed about three pages of posts.

Please do not use this thread to speculate about Oliver's private life – medical or otherwise.

Regardless of the veracity of your rumour, or what you know/have heard, if it's not public knowledge, just don't post it.

I don't want to turn this place into Demonland, but if you can't see the potential harm that this sort of rumour-spreading can cause (regardless of your intentions), then perhaps it's best if you take a bit of a break.

Thanks.

The club was peddling something similar later in the year. Something like the most under 22 players that played in the season, which included Kynan Brown's 6 minutes on field. Made me more angry about it when they name-dropped as one of the young players in our team.

That and the Gus stuff as our reason for not making finals. Gtfo mate.
I think it was some bullshit like over 2 weeks we played x amount of kids but it was like 3 in 3 out and one of them was Brown for 6 mins. We talked about it on the board here haha.

I said it at the time, Goodwin was doing it to make himself look good/give himself an excuse for dumbass fans to swallow but there was absolutely zero commitment to it, was just out on necessity with injury. Making Brown sub deep into the 4th quarter for two games was infuriating. As soon as vets were ready to play again they were back in the side. Couldn't even bring himself to give Jefferson a game while playing 3 KPFs a game, said it all really.

3 pretty dog shit key forward as well, not like any of them were shooting the lights out and unstoppable.
Christ its December and I'm still annoyed lol

Thought we stuffed up not giving him a game tbh, nothing to lose with finals gone should have just given him a taste. Also his VFL form was fairly solid.

The Goodwin factor is the problem. I’m fine with his maintaining a focus on good defensive structure, both Grand Finalists this year had that, but if after the year we had he doesn’t understand that better ball movement in attack is needed for better scoring then we’re going nowhere.
I'm not sure how much is Goody's fault and how much is Lever's.
Somewhere between the two, i suspect.

I have witnessed Maysie trying to bight off a long kick into the corridor from deep D50... both with success and with error.
So I don't think its Maysies idea to go long down the line, time and time again.
Maxy might have some say in it, with his dominant marking out around wing/halfback.

But other than that, I don't see others instructing to go along the boundary all the time.

I like the idea of taking the short kick into play from the fullback position. Then from there, (hopefully not corralled against the boundary line) we can hit another inside option by hand or foot, or to a running player.

If we go back to the old down the line 95% of the time, I will just give it away and spend my time doing more enjoyable things.

Oliver is a bargain by apparently. I'm no supercoach player but still seems high.
As a SuperCoach player it is cheap. Averaged 83 last year which is around 40 points off his usual average in recent years. Not saying he'll go 120+ but he’s a decent chance to go 110.

Success in Supercoach is all about taking a gamble on these sort of players. If he has even a moderate uplift in form and consistency this year he'll increase in value and you can flip him for someone else for the back half of the year.

Any reports of Oliver being unfit and overweight should be ignored. I went and watched training this morning, he looks in good physical shape and looked like he has that power back in his legs. If anything he looked a couple of kilos lighter than his usual playing weight
