Nah... there's something about him. There's no real appetite among the fandom for him to be removed at all, the anger is all being directed at ownership.

At 5.30am this morning he was somehow explaining the final four system for the BBL finals and doing his best to make it sound convoluted as possible whilst also explaining he was trying to not fcuk it up.

For those wondering (1 v 2 (winner straight to GF), 3 v 4 (loser out, winner plays loser of 1 v 2 for other spot in GF).

Spot on. It's a 'rort'. It was started by 3AW who only did it so they could replay Rex Hunt's 'funny' stuff, but then they started replaying regular highlights, and everyone else obviously copied. It's silly. Without vision, I'd argue that they're not really highlights. They could record fake ones and no one would know

It actually started with Magic 693 Football.

Artie Stevens (ex-3KZ) was the producer and told me how he started doing it (and having to do it with reel-to-reel) before 3AW a short time later started copying the idea.

SEN has a rather unrealistic understanding of what "making good radio" means.

These live international sports coupled with the overload of AFL during the season & the 'jobs for the boys' aproach to on-air talent is counter-productive to creating something genuinely interesting that will grow an audience.

I know I've blathered on about this before but surely it's time they had a hard-edged review (with a cull & restructure to follow) of everything they do ??

I love US Sports. I don't love a sub par feed that sounds dreadful on radio.

Not sure when they started but they were commentating in the early 90s. Quarters was there from memory.
