My partner the North fan and me the Crows fan were at the game today.
Can I say that it's actually a miracle re the transformation. My partner reckons he had a lot of pressure as captain and it probably impacted his performance previously. Now it's like he's free of that burden and actually playing like he should have been! 👏

Luke has never been a bad player. Always had his limitations, especially once the senior core he debuted with moved on/retired or regressed. He had to step up be a top 5 player for us when it was probably never his destiny as a footballer.

He’s courageous, a great contested mark and good defender when there is a little bit of pressure from our forwards and mids.

He is a neat kick when he isn’t trying to/expected to play hero ball and thread the needle. With FOS, Daniel (yesterday wasn’t great admittedly) taking the riskier, aggressive kicks we can see LMac settle in to the role he should’ve always been in if we did right thing and allowed him to be a reliable 4th defender capable of intercepting and being a link in the chain.
This is what he is quite good at. Still only 30. Could do this 2-3 more years as a low cost, reliable player to bridge the gap to a FA signing or (hopefully) hold on and scrap for a spot in contending side.

If you think he’s a bad player you’re not looking closely enough

He has been poor for the last 2/3 years.

This is what he should’ve been doing as a leader of the football club.

It’s been 12(!) years, but maybe the switch has been flicked.
