Lets be honest here........we have local footy clubs and some junior teams starting to train before the AFL clubs do.
We all know it is a joke and there is absolutley no need whatsoever for local clubs to be training this early.
But one one club does and has some success ............so it...
if you think there are only one or two on scholarships you are dreaming..............any kid who lobs at these schools in year 10 or later is getting free tuition
the first improvement for the VFL program, compared to last season would be training at a proper venue in the pre-season. Trainining at a school with 'just ok' facilities last year was rubbish
The AFL listed players weren't great last season when playing in the VFL. The VFL boys were unfairly blamed for the poor performances of the team. In 2023 a very strong team, full of AFL players, was smashed by Williamstown in a final.
only the ones who have been announced at other clubs but you would think Rye Penny and Tomasiello might try elsewhere.
Would Josh Eyre come back after being delisted?
how much would you want to pay a player like Ruscoe, to relocate his life from his home state of WA back to Victoria?
To then play at a club who don't rate you and delisted you?
with the AFL list being quite old, I am not sure it helps the VFL program. Senior players may rest, rather than play in the VFL. Maybe Otten can turn them around but they will be starting with a very new bunch of players
makes sense for young players to try somewhere else after a couple of seasons with limited opportunities where they couldn't force their way into the team
every ground in the competition would have become a bog with the rain that fell on that Saturday. Bayswater and Boronia copping grief but any ground that had 12 quarters of footy on it that day would have become a mess
Premier cricket is played at Ringwood. This will make it hard to host finals deep into September. Bayswater cricket club will do it tough through October now
Mother nature does as she pleases. The ground condition doesn't reflect on the EFNL in any way. Bayswater was just as bad and any ground would have struggled with those weather conditions. Winners are grinners
