I expected more from Castlemaine today and even golden square.

Gotta say, any time I see guys in country footy, clubs playing cloaks and daggers with their selected sides, 9 times out of 10 in my time in country footy they lose the game. I'm not if my great mate was having a laugh with us on here, but he put the mozz on them, but full credit to strath for fighting back, when I saw the scores at half time I was thinking a 5 goal south win.

I’ve been told tonight it was a player HQ thing and not a deliberate tactic of strath playing funny buggers.

It sounded like a better contest than what I saw at the QEO.

Castlemaine are a couple of A Grade talls off being taken seriously this year but as mentioned in the previous post they should still win their fair share and challenge for finals.

How in gods name is McGregor Cameron a 1 point player? 18 games for the club including yesterdays…..
South put in to get a lot of player points down Josh Nitschke, Jake Rusbridge and Hayden Geddes should all 3 point players but south put in to have them lowered and got it

Can’t win if the rules don’t get changed for them. All starts with Tomlins.

How does it get approved? Like where was this for maine and poor maryborough in the past?

Y have a point system then if you can get it changed, makes no sense
The system is a joke, a con! In every league its the same top and bottom teams year after year. The system needs to be scrapped otherwise more clubs will go to the wall. Do the law makers have any statistics to say its worked? I bet not. Anyway...we will just watch more lop sided scorelines, multiple premiership winners and clubs closing the doors. It is a disgrace!

In some ways I agree but it overall I think without a points system the top tier clubs would be at significant advantage as the salary cap is beyond a joke. Cameron should be a 3-4 point player minimum.

Now that you have raised it there’s a few eyebrow raising point reductions there for South Bendigo.

Not what you know but who you know it would seem? The inconsistency in this league is a farce.

What kind of tin pot show has the once 'premier league' become? A side play above their allocated points for a season due to an 'administrative error' that other clubs self reported. Now they turn up with a ruckman that at any other club in Victoria would be 4 points plus, but by virtue of having played one season, went away to another premier league then came back is 1 point? Clearly nothing to see here....

Helps when Cam Tomlins has a personal connection to the club…. Just beyond me how you can have 3 different clubs in 4 years and still be a one pointer…

South had 8 points to spare too, surely the league has to make a public statement if they dropping players points and say why. I can see 4 or 5 guys on the list on the wrong points. I'd love to know how that's fair, when you've let a club go into recess and the leagues never deducted points for them, there's plenty of clubs in the region really struggling. The problem is zero transparency and zero consistency, that leads to tin foil hat conspiracies

Sorry not a dig at you and I can’t believe some of the points allocations

It was more a comment regarding Sandhurst and Stath apparently being the protected species
I think South take the cake. I would hate to see the salary cap between them and Castlemaine with the stories I’ve been hearing. Rumors of coaches and partners receiving expensive gifts from sponsors.

As a casual observer of the BFNL the situation at South doesn't bear up to the pub test at all. Once you'd think maybe a coincidence or dumb luck, like the win they had handed to them, or last year's points circus. But the points situation yesterday is next level. As I understand it they've also got Callum Crisp who played at White Hills last year after one season at South year's ago playing, what points will he get?

Agree . When you have rules and by laws set up how can there be interpretations that differ from the letter of the law. The points system is very prescriptive and easy to follow when applying points to a player . There should be no instance where this differs.

Probably a -2.
