If you want to talk numbers then tell the whole story. Reid is infront of berry so far. 2 behinds and 19 disposals to you but if you looked deeper that includes 10 score involvements to berrys 4. 74% efficiency with 0 recorded turnovers to berrys 60% and 4 turnovers. Reid also made 5 tackles with 3 inside his own forward 50 to berrys donut.2 behinds 19 Disposals for Reid. LOL Yea "good" game... as opposed to Berry's 15D and 1 behind.
Berry has looked fine at AFL, his timing at the fall of the ball, his tackling and speed has been on display already. He was a quality kick at junior level and you don't just lose that skill. He just needs to be backed in and be a bit more composed.Moraes looks good ,Whitlock is showing something.
Berry I never liked and wanted Reid.
In saying that you have to feel sorry for Berry, poor kid has just put his shorts on and is thrown into the AFL side because we have zero depth.
He definitely looks a bit lost out there and I don’t blame him.
Hopefully he’ll come good but playing in our side at the moment can’t be great for his confidence.

Perhaps that is what is clouding your judgement on Berry... I'm not suggesting he's better/worse than Reid - but judge him on his own merits rather than comparing (for at least a few years)As i sad the whole month leading into the draft, i hope we pick murphy reid.

The poster uproar over some mild commentary questioning the performance of a high draft pick is equally as pathetic. What’s the point of having BigFooty if a critique of a players output is off limits. So many weak minded posters in here that are probably still club members for equally weak reasons. The premature adjudication in this thread for a young bloke who has played 3 games for a dysfunctional team with a coach who would have failed plasticine modelling in kindergarten must be dripping off some poster's screens!
As a general rule, I completely agree with you. In Berry’s case, while I haven’t yet seen enough to be satisfied we used the right pick on him, the signs are there that he will be a very good footballer playing a role that we have been lacking in for some time. It’s hard to be overly critical of him when most of his senior teammates haven’t been at their best at this early stage of the season. The poster uproar over some mild commentary questioning the performance of a high draft pick is equally as pathetic. Against Essendon he butchered three or four kicks inside 50 as well, killing momentum. Probably just a confidence or fitness thing though, I remember Wingard doing similar in the HFF role he played year 1, everything looks amazing until they fluff the last line.He missed shots for goal he should have nailed (probably just nerves), but he also hit targets with nice passes. If I had to choose between Boak and Berry to nail a pass the choice is obvious (yeah, not a high bar).
I like Boak as a person and someone who has been loyal to the club.He missed shots for goal he should have nailed (probably just nerves), but he also hit targets with nice passes. If I had to choose between Boak and Berry to nail a pass the choice is obvious (yeah, not a high bar).
After 3 games, the jury is still deliberating. Still the well executed kicks I seen gives me some optimismAgainst Essendon he butchered three or four kicks inside 50 as well, killing momentum. Seems more at home playing as a high half-forward rather than a small forward.
So he’s above the shit but that’s a long way from a consistent AFL player. He's clearly a whole level above guys like Charleson, Anametropolis and McEntee.

You think he has it in him or are we just being hopeful?
