I've got real concerns about our midfield. They just dont work well together. The balance, the hardness, its just not right. We've seen it for years in finals, and teams seem to be finding ways to not just get on top, but really smash our mid group.

Last night could've been a far bigger margin and these one sided blow outs have been a real concerning trend heavily centered around our midfield.

When things are going our way and we're on song, we're near unstoppable, but as soon as we need to dig in, win some hard balls and do things the hard way, we just look lost.

It worries me that Carr is coaching that group and hasn't found that balance.

To me it looks like Carr is sabotaging game day so as to get rid of daddyo ASAP

Geez this is ordinary by Gresham.. i thought i noticed that during the game but watching it again it looks so much worse.

Fine him!

What about the 2nd free goal for caddy in the first.. I reckon the worst free I’ve ever seen, barely touched him.. was waiting for the commentators to launch and all I hear is kingy say yeah it was there.. wtf.. still
Not sure what it was for

Moraes a second game first year draftee led by example. If some of the more senior players put in half the effort as he did we would have won the game.

I was at Marvel last night and was impressed by his work rate and his smarts too. Ran up and down the ground playing as a wingman all night and kept offering himself as an option in our forward link chains. 26 disposals is a damn good effort.

Makes sense, from his perspective what advantage is there to us doing well this year? The morons in charge have already told him he's taking over. Better we do bad so next year he is judged against that.

Funny how it's never a coaching issue. Yeah we missed some shots but so did the oppo - they kicked 9.18 for **** sake. The "key fundamental" we're missing isn't the fault of the players.

Sums up the night

Well i'm going to try n polish the turd. It was slippery out there and ^ shows just how much.

We tried to play a run n gun high possession game with too many fumblers and poor kicks.

Yep it was a rotten spectacle but with each loss Sprinkles has to squirm and I like that coz he deserves it

6 of their scores were rushed. 1 of ours was rushed. Scoring shots (excluding rushed) Ess 21, Port 19. Not as big a delta as it looks on first sight.

I've had real concerns for a while now, that more often than not, our new players are the ones that provide our spark and the longer they play, the less impact they have. I understand sometimes this is because players get under the oppositions guard and they do homework and put effort into our star players, but too many of our players go backwards year on year. I still don't rate our development. Between that and the Ken Daddy stuff, and the outward focus on work-life balance, the place reeks of complacency. Everyone appreciates work-life balance, but it's not the first thing i'd be trotting out in interviews.
