I'm biased from watching through one of thise pre-season scratchies but I really don't think Dudley is going to be able to bring great pressure. He'll get brushed off a fair bit. He will though actually be front and square (****ing infuriating watching Sydney win every of our F50 ground balls off a mark) and be dangerous unlike a lot of our guys.

The guy seems to have kicked a goal or two every game over the preseason whether it be an Intraclub or for Peel.

I am more optimistic. Taking on a tackler is so dangerous in your defensive 50. I don't think many defenders would take the risk.

Even if a defender breaks Dudley's tackle, that will normally hold them up 2 or 3 seconds which should give another player a chance to tackle them. You see this so often actually, a player takes on player A, only to be tackled from behind by a 2nd player.

My honest opinion is that we have a few that shouldn't be playing. Sharp just bombs the ball and it's turned over. Banfield has shocking skills. I mean he couldn't even mark a ball inside 50 that was kicked perfectly to him.

As another poster has said to me and I agree. We should be dropping them. Place Freddy on a wing as he is a bearer field kick and get Simpson in who may get the ball no more than Banners but at least he has elite skills.

People bag out Voss he's played 8 games i think. Banners 100 games as of this week and he still can't kick.

At least Voss imposed himself on the game. If he improves his kicking then we have a player. If not the eventually drop him.

JLO is also letting teams tag out Serong and Brayshaw. Omera and Johnson get the ball more because of this and have no impact.

You're like a broken record just like your biased training reports

They like to spotlight players that fit your narrative/biases either good or bad

I try not be overly negative in my reports. I say it exactly how I see it though. If you are referring to what I've said about Banfield as I have been critical of him, he has the worst kicking skills at training. It's a fact and those grubber kicks of his ruin forward 50 entries. No one else is doing them. I can't pretend they don't happen.

What would you like me to say about him when that happens?

Watched Essendon debut a kid as sub, come on in the last and take the game on instantly. Was refreshing and exciting. We could only dream of that kind of movement from our back half these days
do we even have any one on our list outside of wagner who can provide that dash? ive not seen enough of simpson to be able to know if he takes the game on like that, again i think switta could be utilised in that role

Its like all your reports without fail has a special mention on him

Not saying it's the case as I wasn't at the recent training you refer to, but what if you are referring to grubber kicks along the ground maybe they instructed to simulate chaos balls inside 50

Sure he is far from perfect kick but there were few games where he switched the ball and hit the target or even Treacy in the fwd but you choose to blanket all his kicks as atrocious to fit your narrative.

He would be the only player instructed to for this. Sorry mate but its just his kicking

he was aiming to keep the ball low and skim the ground to avoid the effect of the wind :p

I think every think you have said is correct, but I just don't think we enough people playing good football in the WAFL to demand it.

Voss is doing well enough to hold his spot, until Darcy is back.

Simpson just doesn't get enough of the ball, to demand selection.

I think once we get Young, Darcy, Walters and Sturt hopefully, then the situation will resolve itself. However, we need to be bit careful trading multiple picks for one player as our depth is very questionable. (Yes, I still want Pickett)

Hopefully we can land a free agent or 3, to improve our depth.

Look at what the crows did with Cummings (FA) and Neale Bullen (2nd rounder), and this is exactly what we should be doing.

I can back up that banners has looked terrible at training this year

He got super lucky that all our smalls seemed to fall over before round 1

Fwiw he hasn't stood out as so bad in previous years of training, dunno what's happened this year

I'm not actually sure that Banners is playing this week, look at the bench:

We know that Johnson, Dudley, Voss are certain to play and Draper is the best of the remaining players and likely comes in for Walker, so that leaves a sub position for one of Banfield or Aish.

I suppose there is a chance that Aish comes in and Draper or Banners is the sub. Either way, Banfield is likely to be the sub or out.

I guess it is possible that Dudley is the sub but that wouldn't make any sense.
