Marnus wasted nearly 10 overs by not trying to hit the ball.Nearly 27 overs in & there’s hardly a scratch on the ball.
I think Bumrah is the most skilful bowler I've ever seen
Edit: Fast bowler, Warne of course
Quality fast bowling between the two best Test sides, nothing beats it! I’m sure there will be plenty of days that batting reins supreme this series, but days like this are rare and should be appreciated. What a day of Test Cricket.
Love it!!!
You do know cricket can also just have a day of quality fast bowling? Starc, Hazlewood and Bumrah have all been unplayable today and have gone at less than 2rpo between them, while taking a bucket of wickets.
It doesn’t have to be one extreme or the other, sometimes you just have to appreciate world class bowlers at their absolute best all at once.
Certainly should be better than 7/60, but given India’s struggles too it could just be a really hard day for batting.
What an absolute shithouse day of cricket.
The duality of man. What a day of Test Cricket.
Love it!!!
And you've gone to the extreme there yourself - ie, it's the bowling alone that has produced today's outcome. When in fact it's been because of a combination of excellent bowling and some pretty substandard batting techniques. This forum never changes, it’s always one end of the extreme. Obviously the pitch isn’t a complete minefield, but there’s also been a lot of sustained quality fast bowling today that isn’t giving an inch for scoring.
I heard there was extraordinary bowling today (haven't seen that much today) so I should hold fire, but the pattern that is our No 3 making low scores off many balls continues. The writing was on the wall before the series. None of the top 7 apart from Carey has been in any sort of form. Marnus and Smith have been struggling for a long time as well. If you combine that with the quality of the bowling, this is what you get.
Haven’t caught the scores yet, what did I miss?
He was a freak…rotated the ball off his thumb as he came in to bowl. Swung it both ways and seamed it and then went to India and bowled cutters. Effective on any surface in any country. I am biased (I had the fortune to play against him once) but i think he was close to the greatest fast bowler to ever play the game.Malcom Marshal’s average is ****ing bonkers.
Helps playing against mediocre cricketersI think Bumrah is the most skilful bowler I've ever seen

As a proud South Aussie, I’m often told that Australian cricket is struggling if SA state players are getting games
Head
Carey
Now McSweeney (import I know)
Getting hard to argue with the logic today.
Only double figure scores are those 3….. funny thatIt is definitely a red flag
I'd have him in the best Test XI of my time.He was a freak…rotated the ball off his thumb as he came in to bowl. Swung it both ways and seamed it and then went to India and bowled cutters. Yes it isn't T20 but no3 should occasionally have the ability to put the bowlers on the back foot, make them change their plans, give them something to think about. We have not had that threat for some time
