Meh, no melts from me. Do I think Sav was with about 5 selections earlier, based on the Port need? - yes.

But Sav is not in my best 22 when all of Henry, Kolo and SDK are fit. Good interceptor, yes. But still struggled defensively, and was a below average distributor.

So take the 25 and move on. Small steak knives but at least the last 4 picks in the draft might be Geel, Geel, Port, Port rather than reverse.

That’s 6 list spots. Draft 8(9), 25(29), 54 & 55. Upgrade Dempsey and leave 1 spot free for SSP, mid-season draft or nothing.

Packup and enjoy summer. (Still can’t believe last years haul BTW)

Was all the argy bargy worth it? Not for mine. We had no hand and in the end were shown up as having no hand.

Id say either mackie got schooled...or more likely he was just the whipping boy for someone else that did not want to let Sav go. cause we gained little and lost face by not just trading him asap.

25 is probably more than many thought we would get ....its the 25th best available kid in the draft.

8 and 25 we can get some thing with that.

Mackies comment about replacing mids..... we will see i guess. We have just lost Sav. Not far from losing Hawk, and Stanley.... etc.

We all need to be realistic, Sav has been a whipping boy on here for a while and would have been shipped off ages ago if we were list managers, sure he has improved his game but if Port think they are getting a star then they are going to be bitterly disappointed, not only is he extremely inconsistent but injures himself at the drop of a hat, win for Geelong to be honest.

Amen!

My mail is the delays were caused by Port and Port alone.
We were open to get it moving, Port wouldn't get back to us...
Watching Mack on Trade Radio there only backs it up as well

Port are shit to deal with and it's not a coincidence that all their deals are taking till the last day

We won’t but if we were to hold our picks then I’d go something like this -

8 - Sanders or Curtin (reckon there’s a 50% chance one will fall). If both gone next best for me is O’Sullivan.

25 - Hastie - he’ll land around here in the draft.

76 - Philactides - well regarded as a bottom aged player last year. Gone off the radar a bit this year but will make a useful small defender imo.

87 - George Stevens - reckon there’s a chance he goes undrafted. Happy to roll the dice on him this late in the draft if we don’t take Sanders earlier.

I think the 2 later picks will be mature age state league players.

You're right, I doubt we keep what we have.

If it's all dependent on Sanders, then we'll either trade up to get him or down if he's not there/clubs asking for too much.

I actually reckon Norf would do their 3 teens picks for 8 on its own. They don't care about the quantity of youth at this point, they need the real topliners.

If Sanders or Curtin are there, take the pick. If they're gone, trade down and hope someone like Wilson is available.

For Curtin or Sanders to be there at 8, we need teams above us to pick both Caddy and O'Sullivan, who are the likeliest candidates for those 2.
