All still playing great footy as evidenced on Sat
Elliott our 2nd leading goalkicker. Cox has only played ~110 games so about the same wear and tear as a 24yo. Mihocek also only played 130-odd
Barely 30
Goldstein would be a short-term solution and as much about working with Begg and Steene as playing

It will be interesting to see how you get on when the old guard retire. A few veterans and a few recruits under the father/son rule, dragged you to that flag win imo.
If a team with Billy Frampton in it can win a flag, then there's hope for all of us!

The flag count is irrelevant to me. Collingwood have always been the #1 team in the competition since the beginning of the league in 1897.
Hawthorn have been the #1 team in the competition in my lifetime, whilst not having any long term periods of mediocrity.
Do you reckon there are any Hawthorn supporters who are between 10 and 70 years old who are jealous of Collingwood, Carlton and Essendon because they have a few more flags than them? I don't.
Ok , I'm curious with this thought process.
Where does collingwood rank behind Hawthorn in your lifetime and reasons why ?

You haven't been the outright number one team in flags won since 1980.
A tired Carlton team only lost by under three goals to a fresh Brisbane Lions team at the gabba.
If we were fresher and got a hold of them at the G then we would've beaten them imo.
I'd rate that Collingwood team to be the weakest flag winning team in years imo.
I'd seriously be shocked if you win another one.

Hopefully one day we can refer to Carlton as 'the weakest flag winning team in years'. Then again, maybe we won't.
Fun fact: there is now a 29% probability that Carlton's current (28 year) premiership drought extends to 50 years.

I wouldn't think so, there's a Carlton flag coming within the next four years. Our list has a lot more potential for growth as such.

I was responding to a poster who said Carltank would win a flag in the next 4 years... so yeah, it seemed pretty relevant to point out that this year is the third time in 12 years that the Carlton board have said more or less the same thing - with zero results
The 2011 "Blue Print" even promised two flags by the end of the 2015 season
