I think he kicked 7 goals in a game prior to being drafted once.
Broke Brad Hill’s draft record as the player with the worst contested possession rate in juniors

There’s a little rule in the draft almanac thing that Brad Hill is the only successful player drafted who had a ratio below X (can’t remember the exact figure)

Sharp has to break history to become a 100 game player

This is worrying.

Im not too phased about losing Sharp. I dont rate him. Pretty soft, one paced, not a great overhead mark. He can kick it far and high though and does bob up for the odd goal.

Dare I say it........sounds like Gaffs career.

Does he physically assault 18 year olds as well?

They got there in the end

I should at look at things in more depth hahaha. I don't do Twitter and I lot of the time I don't even click on the links. Glad their misunderstanding was cleared up, but also good of Moose to stand some ground when grubs like Reid are running riot with their mouths

If Freo have any doubts over their wing stocks they should consider Tom Phillips.

Not good enough at 1 club … ok worth a shot

Not good enough at 2 clubs …. No thanks IMO

Not likely North get pick 11.
No indication that Logue if he does go will end up choosing North.
If Logue does choose North and in the unlikely event North get 11. There is basically no chance we end up with 11 alone. Could possibly be swap of 11 > 14 and a second round pick, but no way even in contract that Logue gets us pick 11 alone.

Reading the tea leaves North will likely get a range of concessions like end of first round (pick 19), additional Tasmania player concessions and additional rookie picks.

I’d be comfortable with pick 19 (they can have a late Future pick back if needed) or in the event that they did actually get 11 a trade like:

11, F2 > 14, Logue

If that eventuated to then let Lobb go I’d be pushing hard for F1 from Bulldogs and pass on either F1 pick along with 11 or 13 to Melbourne for Jackson.

Anyone bagging these blokes getting a better deal, ask yourself would you take a new job if it was paying 30% better with more security?
These blokes are underpaid, and should get more! Fyfe & Lobb excluded
Yeh probably, but the better players in the better teams take less than they’re worth for on field success.
Hopefully can get to that point as a group.

Tom Hawkins is on $300k

Fremantle star players would never do this. This is why the trophy cabinet is empty.

Pick 2 or next years first will get it done. Melbourne might even send something back.

If WC puts that much on the table then I think we’re out of it and should walk away.
Don't think the afl will let them trade pick 2 for a player, only for draft picks, since they have traded their past few 1st round picks for players.

Sharp's draft profile:

STRENGTHS:
His decision making with ball-in-hand combined with his penetrating kick, make him a damaging midfielder/half-back flanker with similar football and athletic traits to Collingwood’s Jack Crisp. He is also athletically sound with good speed and good endurance, with the versatility to play around the ground, having even spent time in the forward half of the ground for his state.

Speed
Penetrating kick
Athleticism
Endurance
Versatility
Outside game

IMPROVEMENTS:

If Sharp is to reach his true ceiling he must get better with his contested side of the game and iron out the inconsistencies by foot. Once he can begin to reduce that amount of turnovers, and fully utilise his deep range kicking, he will be an incredibly dangerous player. Finally the other aspect of Sharp’s game that needs improving is his ability to take intercept marks when he’s stationed in defence.

Contested work
Intercept marking
Kicking consistency

Nice, so if he does an Acres 2022 then the only deficiency left will be kicking consistency.

I believe that figure is 30%

I agree with most of your point, to most players this is a job and you go where the money and security is to set yourself up.

Underpaid though? I don't know many people personally that would scoff at 300k per year

I can guarantee the majority of us would do exactly what Logue and Acres would do if we knew we had a very limited career-trajectory in a specific field and potential to earn as much as possible within that time frame.

Forgive the intrusion but I for one commend Fremantle if they decide to go down the path of holding Rory Lobb to his contract.
The AFL is increasingly becoming more like the EPL or American Sports where contracts mean nothing, the balance isn't right in my opinion.
Might be worthy of a thread by itself but I have no issue for a club to hold a player to the agreement they signed.

If pick 19 comes into play from Norf for Logue, it’s a nice pick to have

We ended up keeping it on day 2 of trade night to get Johnson, but could have traded something really nice for it if we were half serious
