From what I can see we are pretty much playing the same team this week that pyke backed in week after week last year except for the players that exited the club and some injuries to Sloane, Bcrouch and Doedee. Likely the only reason they played youth this year was due to those that left and having no alternative.
Out Jacobs, In O'Brien
Out Jenkins, In Himmelberg
Out Betts, In Stengle
Out Greenwood, In McAdam
Out Keath, In McPherson
Out Sloane, In Jones
Out Brad, In Gibbs
Out Milera, In Hamill
Out Douglas, In Keays

Spot on.

Question marks over whether Himmelberg, McPherson, Jones, Hamill and Gibbs would be in the side if Doedee, Fogarty, Sloane, Brad and Milera were fit.

The rest just plugging gaps from guys we moved on

It's kind of scary the amount of people that are talking up Riley Knight on Twitter and Facebook and still think he can be a long-term player for us. I'm not rooting for the guy to fail, but he's never been a great player, he had some great moments, but like Atkins he needs the team to be flying to fly himself and we are stuck firmly on the ground.

The Facebook comments actually make me sick

He has really stalled as a player, needs a change of clubs I reckon to hopefully get the most out of his career. A lot of clubs could do worse than have him as a depth player. If someone like Dan Butler can turn their career around with a change of clubs, Knight is certainly capable too.

Purely based on age. Gibbs, as a 31 year old, is literally zero chance of being in our next finals team. Same with Mackay. Zero chance of being around in 3-4 years.

Atkins, Knight and Poholke are still a chance. Sure, an outside chance and I think all three will be moved on. But a non-zero chance. Outside of that, players like Atkins have genuine trade value.

That's why I'd have Gibbs and Mackay as some of the very last players I would have picked this year

Mackay will play until he's 45. And we'll keep signing him.

hypothetically if we draft thilthorpe, hollands and another midfielder at pick 7 idk how tf walker and matt crouch are going to keep their spot.

I guess the problem with playing all kids this year is all the games are jam packed and no time to teach them between games so just sending them out to the slaughter

Wow some really good melts this week. Well done! If you can believe the rumour re the VFL House demanding a win or they will charge us with tanking. The AFC will toe the line , no questions asked. They'll just bend over.

However, I took a hard look at both teams lineups this week. I think those 4 older players actually match up well size with their players. Their Forwards are on the smaller side, so why play 3 talls? This should be a very close game, but Norf seem to have the wood on us over the past few years.

I would laugh like hell if we get thrashed. Would be like hanging a finger right up to the match selectors, the board and VFL House. Make it happen.:D

Crows fans whinging because they might win a game. I have to concede that this is a dead set first for me.

FFS, we've never had a priority pick, get shafted over father sons and the highest pick we have ever had came from your club.

We've never tanked and neither has your club. You should take pride in that fact.

What's more, the result isn't even relevant to the draft. We won't be taking Tilthorpe if we end up last, I can assure you.
You will have to rebrand as Geelong [emoji4]

I hope we lose
A win would be a disastrous result for the club. It means we'll continue to stick with the team, depriving all of the kids of game-time and setting back their development, and adding another year to the supposed rebuild.

The problem isn't whether we'll win or lose, but that they have no faith in the youngsters being capable of getting them a win. We're backing in the same senior blokes who proved last year they can't take this team forward, all so the higher ups can try and take the heat off themselves. It's that bullshit culture of self preservation hitting again. We're supposedly 2 years into a 4 year rebuild and we've got a grand total of 2 players from the last 2 drafts in our best 22. So by the end of the rebuild we'll have what, 4?
