Can someone please explain to me why Farrer and Riverina are separate leagues? Surely they'd be stronger if they merged and had two divisions with promotion and relegation.

In 1982 South West FL, Central Riverina & Farrer Leagues were re-organised to create the Riverina FL, and Riverina Div1 . The following year div 1 was split into Div 1 and Div 2.

In 1985 Div 1 and 2 broke away to reform Farrer League. Bet it had do with football politics.
