Player Watch Welcome to Port Adelaide Jordon Sweet

Not sure why some were writing him off early, but I'm of the opinion there is not a lot of difference between him and Soldo for actual ruck craft, with my only real criticism being that he tends to tap the ball to his feet particularly at centre bounce downs, as opposed to Ivan hitting it to an open space or a free player, but that may have been the way he was coached at his previous club and it will take a bit of time to break that habit.
When you have clearance machines like Libba and Bont, it would be the way to go.

Great opportunity for him to get a solid crack at it over the next few weeks.

Tap work will only get better as it is hard to replicate the weighting of a tap at training compared to a game. Looked better as the game wore on.

Around ground seems pretty mobile and is big big bloke keen to impact the contest.

Our mids will soon tell him where they want the ball. That is why they need to have some time together. Big test again next week against the Crows. Will be a good yardstick.

I enjoyed his game last night.
6 tackles is awesome to see
Looking forward to seeing him grow into the position with our mids

Big strong body who can impact the contest ie tackle. Like a ruck that can direct the ball to his players position. Another significant piece of the quartet picked up by cripps.

Wasn’t dominate but competed well.
Hopefully this puts a silence to the naysayers & S Hayes fanboys….

YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!
At least my take on Hayes, and Butch, wasn't that I'd put the house on them being world beaters but that there were definitely signs of life there but we never got to find out (whilst we gave every chance to the likes of S.Gray, McEntee etc).
So...we have to spend so many draft picks to bolster the stocks of talls that someone else developed.
That + the Sinn debacle now leaves the cupboard pretty bare.

I too thought Sweet was limping as the players were walking up the race after the aint's game.

Hopefully it is only a minor problem (eg a corkie) which he can recover from in a few days, because having a ruck who can at least break even with Rob will obviously be extremely important to the result of the showdown.

I mean... he tried tonight. Certainly didn't get as much of a bath as Lycett normally would've.

That still doesn't say very much at all. ROB still won yet ANOTHER showdown ruck battle.

Hes ******* horrible man. He hits the ball for the oppositon to run onto it

Only time we got on top was with Dixon rucking in the 4th
I'd say the major component of that late run was a) Dixon being out of the forwardline and therefore out of JHF's ******* way, and b) Dixon being out of the forwardline and therefore unable to take big contested grabs 60m out, think about what to do next for 10 minutes then kick it into the man on the mark.

Dixon would have had a better game if he played like Mitch and Todd and ran away from the ball.
