Reckon Hammers should be wary of Lopetegui…don’t think Wolves were that sad to see him move on. Very prickly and unapproachable according to some staff. Who knows maybe some people had an unfair go at him but there were also stories of his difficult nature in Spain.

Yeah a few clubs are picking up interest in him. It's a shame, I'd hoped he'd stay one more season but I'm a bit resigned to it now. Think a fee of around 20m gets it done.

The transfer fees in the MLS are starting to get right up there. Particularly if you exclude the PL and the Saudis. Celtic sold Abada for 10 million and that was a forced transfer. For players of that ability there is no one outside the PL paying those kind of fees. You wouldn't have been able to sell him to mid table teams in Spain, Germany, Italy etc for that.

He’s too petulant for my taste. Also, going to be 30 in September and rebuilding the squad would mean selling older players like Bruno. Varane and Casemiro might not be around next season for the same reason.

You can still recognise a player who has contributed a lot to your club is leaving and be sad about it. Petulant or not he's been a fantastic player for you for a long time in an era where you've signed a lot of dross.
