The cheering etc afterwards was really the sort of thing you’d expect, you’re always going to be happy for a teammates success unless you’re a Jamaican sprinter.

but seeing him looking around and waiting for him and running for him, and the ferocity of his encouragement was just awesome and you could tell how much that meant to him to help his teammate

McDermott has jumped the 3rd highest of any woman in high jump this year, so I'd have thought she'd certainly be in the mix

He didn't slip. He got a seasons beat in the javelin and world record holder Meyer got a personal best in the javelin to jump up to silver.
