more like Norfolk Island.

Loads of places like that in the Olympics. Bermuda, Hong Kong, Virgin Islands, Cook Islands. Think if you are an external territory from way back, you get to go to the Olympics

Theres 9 total territories
Guam
Puerto Rico
US Virgin Islands
American Samoa
Bermuda
Cayman Islands
British Virgin Islands
Hong Kong
Kingdom of Netherlands (Aruba)

Then Palestine, Kosovo, Cook Islands and Taiwan are another 4 "special" cases

Yep with the Olympics you get a few footy seasons' worth of highs and lows all packed into a fortnight.
There really is nothing like it. 2 weeks of intense ups and downs, especially if you are into sport and the idea of representing your country.

The excitement. The highs and lows. The adrenaline of a close finish. Amazing feeling when Australia get up in a close one or heartbreak when we lose only just.

It's literally just if the IOC thinks a state has enough autonomy and national identity to be called a "country" according to the IOC charter as this article of Puerto Rico in the Olympics explains

The Kazak waterpolo coach looks like Hutchy, but not as fat

Opals drew to play USA in the quarters. RIP

Just watched replay after replay of the disallowed goal, ref cheated, pure and simple.

The players were not off side when the ball was taken and the block, what block?

Disgrace but Australian teams seem to cop this all the time,we copped a bs penalty against GB with no VAR ruling, hockey teams have copped alot of howler penalty corners that weren’t there.

Done with officials who cheat, copped it with Richmond and the umps all year, now these pricks.

The Olympic Games stand out from all the other sporting events as it exudes almost every emotion.. elation, disappointment, excitement, hope, pride, memories and inspiration all wrapped in one bundle.

Id argue that we, richmond, have copped it worse than any national team

Spot on mate. People from all over the world put aside political, national, sporting differences.

so the big question is, can we stay above russia? 1, maybe 2 more gold coming (assuming the sailing we are ahead in and the mens hockey fingers crossed), meaning russia would need another 3 to leapfrog us. with the gymnastics juts about done id assume they dont have many pet events left, could be tight.
