After doing a hell of a lot of records on VFA sores, can I have help with the following:

NTFL from 1955 onwards.

NWFU from 1955 onwards

Q b y Q would be great, but final scores and grounds would be super.

The greatest fan of Baldock, Stewart, and Howell, but more importantly the history of the Greatest Game.
BTW, not affiliated with AFL.Com. Not interested in History, only Scores (and inaccurate at that).

Yes, Latrobe score correct as far as I can see, qtr-by-qtr was as follows:
Pen - 1.5 - 4.6 - 6.7 - 10.9
Lat - 1.3 - 2.11 - 2.16 - 2.18

Hi the Croucher. All good. Can pretty much read them. The way I do footy scores is get them, calculate the ladder after every round, and then look for discrepancies.
The research I've done suggests that the two Tassy major papers at the time - the Examiner, and the Mercury - would suggest that the NWFU were a second rate League. Oh how did they get a shock when they let them play in the State Premiership, and before hand - North v South matches.

The season was then cancelled due to the war. After Round 3, pretty much all of reigning premier Burnie's side had enlisted! Ulverstone had a winless season in 1939 (haven't researched further back yet, and within the week I'll have finished all of 1939 in Tassie), and the last win broke a streak of at least 21 matches, before they packed it all up for 5 years...!

Notes:
Points per win varied through the season. In the NTFA and TANFL, 4 points per win were awarded until Round 10, when it changed to 6 per win. In the 1939 NWFU, you got 2 points until Round 7, when it changed to 4.

In 1939 Round 2, Lefroy forfeited their match to Cananore in protest over the suspension of their player V.Rae for some argy bargy the week before.

During the mid season VFL bye in the 1930's, some teams would fly over and play exhibition matches. There was a Richmond v Collingwood game in 1939, and Richmond warmed up with a game v the NTFA the previous Monday.

Keys to grounds above:
YP = York Park, LON = Longford Recreation Ground. Two city sides would play on York Park each weekend, and the third would travel to country town Longford, who therefore rarely played an away game!
WP = West Park (Burnie), the others are straightforward.
NH = North Hobart, TCA = Tasmanian CA ground, which was the one they used for over a century for cricket until they moved it all to Bellerive.

The NWFU was treated like a bit of a poor cousin by the NTFA and TANFL before the war, and in 1940 were in recess before the state games started - they did play games in 1939. The Australian Imperial Forces (AIF) put a side together for fund raising challenge matches. It had a reasonable number of ex-seniors in the first match against the TANFL, but as enlistments grew in 1940, it was a pretty strong side by the time they got to the NTFA...! Some of the other matches seem pointless...it seems like City, Longford, Lefroy and New Town all tried to scrounge one more match out of the season before having to give the grounds over to cricket...
