This sort of stuff reminds me of The Dark Tower book series, for anyone who's read it and is familiar with the setting. People living like the old west or worse but the book is set thousands of years after a world like ours (trains and electricity etc).

Haven't read the books, but there's always hints of truth in fiction, ideas of things that existed and we didn't know about. It's just amazing to think the big picture ...earth been populated with advanced civilizations just like ours today, even more advanced, as far back as say 300,000 years (so many lifetimes, generations), and theres been cataclysms, wars, whatever, that buried them, and new life, new primitive civilization having to start all over again, etc....and like just 400-200 years ago there was one, another reset, who had free energy, electric cars, incredible architecture, etc, that was lost again
