Rumour: Josh Toy to Richmond?

Right. Well that seems to go against the thing the AFL released about it, so I guess we'll see what happens. From what I heard regarding Tippett, we wanted to delist him to make room on our crowded list, but the AFL wouldn't allow it due to the ongoing investigation. It was also thought that this wouldn't make him a free-agent, as he'd refused to sign the contract offered to him.

Thank you

Josh Toy is a fair bit different to Kurt Tippett, it is surprising you are even comparing the 2.
Kurt Tippett is being investigated along with the whole of your club for breaching the salary cap and also draft fixing was it. With the little agreement that was never declared. The apparent agreement where adelaide would trade him to the club of his choice for a second round draft pick.

Josh Toy has done nothing wrong whatso ever and neither have GC so business is as usual for those parties but the afl also told sydney that it would be highly unlikely that the AFL would sign off on any trade deals for Kurt Tippett due to this investigation.

He will be lucky if he is not de registered and has to sit out a year after knowingly being payed outside the salary cap if all reports are true.

So the 2 situations are totally different.

At best for tippett he will go into the draft at worst he will sit out a year. But he will not be a free agent and nor should he be.

Goddard is a good ordinary player. He aint no messiah
you finished below us and you got 2 ordinary players from ordinary clubs. Niether player you pick up is anywhere near the calibre of goddard please i do not think we will win the flag but there is more chance of that than you finishing top 4 sorry just my opinion.

Removing all the drama over his investigation, had the AFC been able to delist Tippett, at the end of the day, they are exactly the same. Two delisted players whom have been offered a contract by their current club, but refused to sign it. If Tippett was going to be delisted, and this was not going to make him eligible as a delisted free-agent, then it wouldn't be any different for Toy. I accept that he's on that list of delisted free-agents, but this seems to go against the details released by the AFL on what constitutes a delisted free-agent.

If Toy is in fact a free-agent, I find it surprising that he hasn't been signed up yet, considering that there seems to be a fair bit of interest.

Ah, now here is something interesting...!

What IS wrong with the boy??

Is it just attitude or is it home sickness or does he really have a breathing/heart issue that will effect his ability to play more than 1 game a fortnight??

The press isn't all over it because there isn't much to it (beyond a kid having issues growing up, which happens to many young AFL players).

Yes, where there is smoke there is fire, but that theory requires multiple sources, some with credibility. Considering the only place you hear it is BF, and generally from the more dubious posters, I suspect this is more some embers rather than a bushfire. ie. Something to keep an eye on, but not dangerous in itself.

Care to elaborate on the last? Preferably with something more than BF rumour.

Not going to pour petrol on an ember Telsor...

Especially just to feed the BF masses...

He has difficulty running at speed for a long time
I'd think that is a big issue
I'd be surprised if we picked him up, but comforted by the fact that we have specifically watched him in NEAFL games about 8 times in the last 2 years, are fully aware of his issues and would have given him more than just a checkup with a GP

You know what, I know that his issues could affect his endurance long term, but as a designated sub who probably won't play more than 1/2 a game each week on average, I think it could work.

From someone who knows Josh, his heart "problems" are over-exaggerated in the media.

He's done medicals with 5 clubs that I know of (Rich, Haw, North Melb, WB, Ess).

So it would seem clubs are doing their due dilligence.

This crap about "the company he keeps off field" is just that.

I'm starting to see the problem here.....

I am simply saying that if yrichmond think that chaplin and edwards will take them to the top 4 the goddard and daniher will take us to the flag. And personally i doubt either of those things will happen.

Who started saying that? News to my ears!

If Chaplin and Edwards = top 4, then I am going to step up and make the big call.

I'm predicting a Richmond premiership.

Thanks for the vote of confidence mate but not sure I follow
