spinning out of tackles and doing this 360 all the time should be out lawed and like if you do it you will be pinged for holding the ball
Too many times we see it and like the tackler is like up for the MRO
Well simple get rid of the ball before the tackle simple
To many times they spin out and then release the ball or in some times tap the ball on
I thought this time last year they did out law it
Take on the tackle if you spin you will get pinned

A reward for effort finally.

Any tapping on is concidered a non disposal again a free kick awarded against.

Get rid of this 6-6-6 thing go back to the way it was.

Have an extended bench.

on the scoreboard flash up when its 2 mins left of the quarter.

Man on the mark stay put rule gone. The man on the mark can move sideways as long as its not forward of the mark but a step or 2 side ways is fine.

Have a timer between each goal and the umpire has to bounce it with in 1 minute of a goal scored and get back quick for the bounce again keeps players on thier toes and reset quicker.

Only bounce the ball centre at the start of each quarter then throw it up the rest of the time.

Deeper throw ins by umpires as well even throw it in front on so it takes the guess work out of it.

Honestly 90% of the rules need to be removed, not even joking, basically every law introduced in the last 30 years, that includes rubbish like landing in the back and bumping as a player kicks

Really the only things that ought to be outlawed are holding, high tackles, trips, baseball slides, front on contact without touching the ball, as well as other obvious stuff

For htb, "prior opportunity" needs to be scrapped and we need to return to DROPPING the ball, if you're tackled and you dispose of it illegally it's a free kick no matter what.

Then there's the more complicated stuff like deliberate, rushed behinds and advantage which all need overhauls but can't be bothered getting into those.

Pay a free kick for too high when Jack Ginnivan is taken high.

Pay 50m penalty when Jack Ginnivan gets a free kick or takes a mark and then is given additional treatment by the opposition players.

Get rid of umps bouncing the ball altogether. Just throw it up.

Totally agree with the tackling thing
Pay more holding the ball .

They penalise the sling tackle but players only use the sling tackle when blokes like Bont try and hold the ball for a hundred spins when they are tackled.

The big name players seem to get away with more spins as well. They just hold the ball in the tackle no matter what.

It's worse in the women's game. They just hold it hold it hold it. Then a ball up. Drives me mad

I also want a last "genuine touch" out of bounds rule.

Small touches then sure throw it in

Everything else then opposite side gets a free .

Constant boundary throw ins and ball ups get very boring

Massively underrated post that'll get lost in this dumpster fire of the thread. Reverting to a simple HTB would be fantastic.

6 6 6 is great, when foxfooty replays a close match from 10 years ago and the team in front starts with literally their entire team in the back half you see how dumb things used to be

Same with the 'stand' rule you need to re watch a match from before it was introduced to appreciate what a good change it is imo

how many are we talking?
2 or 3? or something that resembles a ball-pit?

Perhaps 2 footballs could be stored in the spider cam and when multi ball is declared the spider cam drops the balls at a random place on the field.

If a player can climb the spider cam before the drop they are allowed to kick the footballs into the field to their advantage.

yeah i thought so too powerrrr.

Should be if you spin you get pinged.

Far too many times players like spin and drag themselves to the ground while the tackler holds on whats worse it looks like the tackler is a sling but it isnt the player tacklled forces himself to the ground.

This should always be holding the ball.

Also dropping the ball that too is holding the ball.

Any drop is.

A free kick is awarded for any lose ball as well caused by a tackle too.

Only way to dipsose of the ball is kick or handball only.

None of this dropping and tapping it on crap.

I agree with in the arcs have a last touch rule over the boundry line a free kick is awarded against the team who last touched the ball.

For the record folks im 45 years of age and my birthday is in june.

On the money. 6-6-6 has proven to increase inside 50s and scores (goals/behinds) from center bounces. It has led to these classic quick chains of goals from center clearances. The 2021 GF was a perfect example of this. Beautiful football.

The stand rule is also good. It's gotten rid of these dirty delay-of-game tactics around the mark. Many years ago, teams used to set basketball-like screens to block the defender on the mark. Hawthorn and Collingwood were the worst offenders of this. The AFL stamped it out of the game. I see the stand rule as continuing to clean things up.

If the marker/kicker isn't allowed to move sideways, the man on the mark shouldn't be allowed to either. The kicker should have a protected zone where they can't be crowded by the opposition.

agree mad dog if the ball hits the posts as long as its goes back in the field of play its play on.

and if the ball hits the post but still goes through for goal then this should be goal
