Now that the Olympics is done and dusted it's time for the Paralympics to take centre stage in Rio, with the Opening Ceremony taking place on 7 September.
The IPC has been red hot on the illicit drug issue in the lead up to the games, with Russia thrown out of the Paralympics (a decision upheld by CAS). 175 Russian athletes then requested to participate as a neutral, which was knocked back by the IPC.

Meanwhile the first of the athletes have began to arrive in Rio.

For those following the Paralympics, feel free to post any updates or tidbits.
(Haven't seen a separate Paralympics thread - mods feel free to merge if there's another one out there).
