In reality you’re coming up to 25 years since your last GF win and 20 since your last GF appearance. That’s 2 decades. That’s not a blip (just like 35 wasn’t).
It takes about 7 years to get the rebuild right. So right now you’re entering the 4th year (in this one). If SOS has got the picks right, next year is when you will see the lift (not saying your year this year will be similar to 2018). But i can tell you from experience there’s SFA difference between nothing from 25 years or 35 years. You’re just as hungry for that cup each year.

Yeah fair enough but I don’t see these ‘blips’ as being discussed like they are now in years to come.
Also to add...we are not the only team in this boat. Some will remain in the quagmire, others will sail onwards and upwards. Time will tell but I wouldn’t be a true supporter if I didn’t want to see my club have more success.

Absolutely you should want success for your team. Otherwise what’s the point of it all.
Tigers winning killed the “blips”. All of a sudden, Essendon, Melbourne, Carlton, Saints supporters and a few others had to look at their own teams performance rather than the “we’re shit, but not as shit as Richmond” call. Particularly some of the douches in the media. So you’re right, the blips won’t be discussed or analysed like they were.

Having played more GFs does though.
If it was all one set of players yes, as that is not the case it actually counts for nothing, experience wise.
