We don't really have a place to discuss random thoughts and things so here goes.

Who do people think will be our first 10 figures to be inducted into our inaugural hall of fame?

My guesses are

1: Kevin sheedy
2: Craig lambert
3: Jeremy Cameron
4: Lachlan Whitfield
5: Dylan Shiel
6: The General
7: Callan Ward
8: Phil Davis
9: Shane Mumford
10: Sam Schulz

I reckon the young kid from Haberfield, just trying to make his way in the world who won a newspaper competition to name the team should be considered...

Now that's out of the way,

I strongly concur that the Lamberts be the first.

Dr Andrews?

I didn't know you were a GWS fan!!??

But hey, aren't our sessions supposedly private?

P.S. I'm out of Valium. I mistook them for Mentos.

Again.
They were private until you posted it all over bf.

And no i will not fake your prescription. And before you ask no, im not refilling your viagra perscription either.

Damn it!!

Wait until Dr Google can write prescriptions, you real life doctors will come crawling back to the likes of me.

Just you wait.

Anyone see the Footy Show last night?
Hughesy was giving us his spray, but it got pulled about 30 seconds in.

Was it the un-edited version that they put to air by accident? Interesting to see if they out it on next week or so.

They couldn't play any tapes. Thought they may have inadvertently played the un-edited version and pulled the pin

Craig and Melissa Lambert are the only unreplaceable members of our back office.

I think Leon is doing a great job. I think Phil is worth every cent he gets. I appreciate the work Kevin did.

But Craig and Melissa arent negotiable.

I just listened to Tony Sheppard's interview on 3AW (would recommend for those interested in off-field health) and he was questioned of what would happen if we had a game against one of the big clubs in the finals and we had to turn people away at the gate. Spotless seats 24,000 and the interviewer was talking about how 10-15k might be turned away if its a home final against a team like the pies.

Obviously this is more a long term kinda random thought (I'm thinking 15 years down the track here probably) - currently we only get 10-15k at Spotless, it was recently redeveloped and we are about a year removed from opening the state of the art training facility in the Olympic Park - but do we think an eventual move back to a redeveloped Blacktown international sports park would be likely?

I think that eventually it has to happen, for a few reasons:
  1. Its further West, and closer to the heart of the Western Sydney market. Its also on a real train-line (Rooty Hill station walking distance) and not on the Sydney Olympic Park line.
  2. It has the potential to be developed into a state of the art stadium seating 40,000+. In fact, plans to that effect were created as part of the Australian 2018/2022 World Cup bid (http://pandora.nla.gov.au/pan/10100...-bid_stadiums_blacktown-stadium---sydney.html).
  3. The Western Sydney Wanderers have looked into creating a state of the art training facility out there (http://www.smh.com.au/sport/soccer/...ktown-20141204-1201au.html?rand=1417691873628). Side note: In my opinion more needs to be done to make these clubs closer. We might be competing for membership dollars, but I think having a combined training facility (obviously with some Giants specific stuff (field, indoor facility etc) and some Wanderers specific stuff) would go a long way to increasing synergies between the codes. All this "the Wanderers are competing with the Giants" stuff should be flipped on its head. As the only other club purporting to represent the entire region of Western Sydney I think the two clubs should actively work together - Imagine joint memberships? Why is this not a thing yet?. To that end;
  4. The costs of the facilities could be borne by a combination of the Giants, the Wanderers, the AFL, the A-League, the Blacktown City Council (already a HUGE supporter of the Giants) and the NSW state government.
  5. We'd get more scheduling flexibility (no need to fight with the Royal Easter Show). This means we wouldn't have to play 5 straight rounds away from Sydney, and could fold in the Canberra games throughout the year.

Mods note: there might be a more appropriate thread that this can go in - seems like a random, pie in the sky thought. Couldn't see one, but feel free to move it.

The number of things that need to happen before that eventuates is too large for me to see it ever happening:
1. Whole new stadium at the complex.
2. New train station at the complex.
3. Increased parking at the complex.

The Wanderers aren't going to move their game days out there so it's not going to be a shared cost.

A walkway under the M7 would make the walk from Rooty Hill station no further than the walk from Richmond to the G I wouldnt have thought (using a ruler and my computer screen).

Yeah agree that the parking and the stadium are obvious issues - as mentioned very pie in the sky thinking - but I think if some kind of stadium is agreed too and constructed there is enough land around the site for parking capacity to be conceivably expanded.

I also would have thought that the Wanderers, who currently play out of Parramatta stadium that, even with its planned redevelopment, will only have a capacity of 24700, would look to expanding their capacity should the continue to grow in the next 15-20 years.
