Richmond AFLW has named its squad for Sunday morning's practice match against Hawthorn at the MCG.
Twenty-five players will participate in the Tigers' official practice match of the pre-season in the historic double header at the 'G, following the team's 63-point match simulation win over Fremantle last weekend.
The game will be Richmond final competitive hit-out before the Club embarks on its fourth season in the competition. The Tigers take on Geelong in the opening round of the season on Sunday, August 28 at GMHBA Stadium from 4.10pm AEST.
The Tiger Army will get a proper look at recruits Grace Egan, Steph Williams and Libby Graham in their first official practice match in the Yellow and Black, as well as draftee duo Eilish Sheerin and Katelyn Cox.
Skipper Katie Brennan will miss the clash as she continues to build her training loads from a foot injury sustained in Season 6.
The 29-year-old has had an interrupted pre-season due to the issue but is progressing well and is a probable chance to be available for the Round 1 clash against Geelong in a fortnight.
The remainder of Richmond's newly-appointed leadership group in Sarah Hosking, Monique Conti, Gabby Seymour and Bec Miller, have all been named to play.
Sunday's clash kicks off at 10.30am AEST at the MCG ahead of the 1.10pm AFL clash. All fans with tickets to Richmond's AFL game can also access the AFLW game.
Live vision of the match will be available on richmondfc.com.au and our Official Club App, from approximately 10.30am AEST.

You would expect to be beating a first year team like this.
They seem to be connecting so much better than in previous seasons.

Tuned in half way through the second, still pretty average connections going forward. Early days, called a practice match for a reason. Egan looked good in that role. Steph Williams is going to catch a few players napping with here speed.

That quarter felt like a soccer match.
Hawthorn parked the bus and we couldn’t get any good looks

16 a side looks so open on the G at that pace, our girls really should work some better angles going forward and stretch the Hawks a bit more.

Might be 16 a side but when every girl is in the Richmond half of the ground it’s easily congested

It’s almost as if the ground is too big

That's what I was alluding to. But they need to use the size a bit better, and stretch Hawks outwards a bit more up forward. Ellie Mac was coming into her own that quarter, hope it spurs her confidence.

Your right there
There were times when switching would’ve been the best option but instead went down the line to the pack and an outnumbered situation

Now that was good footy just then, nice gather by Dempsey on the wing, pass to Egan, who put to the advantage of Yassir was it and a cross the body kick for a goal

Same ol ill-discipline with the mouth as our senior team - gifts a goal - perhaps their only goal?.

Ooooh, Molan did a good thing! Kick the goal Steph.... She's a goody!
Although I was getting confused between Molan and Egan.
Look very similar.

52 to 8 - we looked better in the second half that's for sure, though missed the first qtr when we kicked 3goals to zip. Hawks probably better skilled than our opening season team, they were not disgraced despite the scoreline - thought they possessed the ball very well at times and made us look a bit average. BUT, it was a practice match.

Ellie looked like she will kick up a gear this season, Egan linked in really well, Wakefield is going to be the leading goal kicker this season if she can stay fit because she should get some decent supply. Reid has a beautiful long kick into the forward line, I hope she can play wing to make really good use of the penetration, Dempsey will go on with her good last season form. Still think Jess Hosking's leadership down back is pivotal, not so much her work rate which is good, but her chat and direction for others - has such a good footy brain and will help our backs and mids with her voice.

Yah think, one runs while the other just saunters at her full pace.......................... ;)
