Callum Brown has been handed a three-week suspension for rough conduct during the GIANTS' loss to the Swans on Saturday afternoon.
The collision with Swan Tom McCartin in the second quarter of the round eight match was assessed as careless conduct, high impact and severe contact, which equates to a three-week suspension.

Can someone please, slowly, explain how the SPP brace/bump was rated as careless conduct with severe impact and high contact and got a four match suspension.

Whereas McCartin is rated careless conduct, High impact and severe contact and gets a three match suspension.

Went to a game once where the full forward did the same thing in a howling wind and rain for a quarter.
I remember once Roger Delaney starting off at full back when we was against a strong breeze and moving to full forward in the second qtr with the breeze.
Very talented footballer was Roger.

There is a random line in the tribunal guide that states that even though an offence is graded as severe impact and high contact, which usual warrants a direct referral to the tribunal, the MRO can offer a suspension off the bat.

It’s amazing that they only found that line in round 7.

Technically he wouldn't have had to have moved at all. The old under 12s trick where the coach says everyone go back to the same spot and the backs and towards swap positions
