Doggies being gifted two KPP in JUH and Darcy. Even fat Jesus wept
That Darcy will end up a player of note. JUH as well but I feel Darcy is even more special.
Just imagine if he we had him.
I can't stop crying.. Until I stop!

No one is moaning. But the posters that are now attacking Grundy just look salty. It would be like Hawthorn supporters attacking Titch calling him just a stat plodding seagull and ignoring the fact he was a 2x club champion and ex-brownlow medalist and it was the club deciding to move him on.

It's ok to acknowledge Grundy was a star for the pies and will be a loss for us. Just as it's ok to acknowledge we managed to offset that loss in another area by getting Mitchell who has just as elite credentials but was pushed out by their previous club.
He was a star and average in his last couple of seasons.
Either the money went to his head or the soy lattes.
Cox showed more as a tap ruckman.

Mate, Cox is a mile off Grundy.
We just have to hope that our rucks can at least break even enough for the mids to get enough ball.

Better mids this year than last.
Grundy was average at best the last two years. Before this he was unbelievable.

Nah before he went down he was still going OK.

Grundy was awful in the PF against GWS and those weaknesses were never addressed. However, we could have avoided them entirely with a better gameplan and that's pretty much what happened. Grundy could have been great this year even without McStay and Mitchell.

But whatever, that's all academic now and I wish him well but us wellerer.

The Grundy trade will frame a lot of our discussion this year. We are aiming for a flag in 2023.
I think that’s a bit to big a call jmac. We missed the gf by a bees dick, but we are all aware of the list weaknesses. Objectively the list is not top 4 on talent. That won’t be fixed in 1 off season. The Grundy trade has opened up some doors to balance the list. But it’s not flag or bust.

Agree - v well summed up
Add in the terrible trades for Stevo Treloar in which we had no bargaining power (but necessary ) plus the terrible decision not to walk away from the Beams trade when the price got too high
Hoping we’re starting to see balance and an ability to attract more free agents / trade in going forward
I got so much enjoyment from ‘22 — I don’t have to have a flag this year to enjoy football

* me. I didn’t mean the exact amount of those players was Grundys contract. Are you that much of a simpleton?
If you mean it's only one of them then only Mitchell has the proven elite credentials of Grundy. So I'm glad we managed to offset Grundy's loss with Mitchell.

And I wonder what we think of Hawthorn supporters now that dismiss Mitchell as no big loss and just some stat plodder now that they've traded him.

Agree. He’s a different beast at Melb though, he’s motivated out of hurt. Seemed to have lost motivation at Collingwood after we stuffed his pockets until retirement.
Remains to be seen brother. Agree to an extent.

Maybe. Even if he wins the next 4 Brownlows, could we have afforded to keep him?
He may not have won them win us / we may not have won a flag with him.
it is simply the end result of a horror span of re-signings + trading.

We barely beat hawks Jen who id argue are worse than north on paper now. I wouldn’t read much into it.
I think Hawks for the spoon. North to improve although it wouldn't surprise me if North finished last again.
