Redland may have some news? Can this be confirmed?

The ramifications of a season of unpredictability? Interesting that the 2 QLD based clubs in the league with the biggest footy budgets (probably)are coming last and 2nd last, a third of the way in.

The Sharks are now favourite for the spoon with Birdbet, can't imagine their board would be too thrilled with that idea (not making grand finals has been enough to piss them off in the past), and whilst Redland have played some good footy at times the fact is they keep losing games that on paper you would think they ought to win.

It is all just rumour and crap until something is confirmed though.

Wise...???? Has he even been in Southport's best players this year??.I reckon he has been a great player but he has struggled since coming back from injury. Same with Bonney - after 7 games he's mentioned in Morningside's best players just once! If he cant be in the best of a team thats second bottom, he is hardly justified of a spot in a state game.

Just for a change, would really like to see a Qld team to be picked on current form this year and not on past efforts or because a player is from a coach's club team! It's like picking the Australian Swimming team based on last years performances! Lets not hope a player is going to run on form, lets pick them because of their current form shown.Lets get it right.

couldnt agree more. the side must be picked on current form and not reputations. lets hope they reward the players that are showing consistent form

it will be very intersting to see how many sharks get in, with cotters influence? Bonney has been pretty good of the games i have seen this year. QLD must pick the strongest side they can regardless of age Proud must play has been awsome along with Chris Smith all year.... would Caleb Brown been a smokey.....

I know only 9 of the 34 games this year have been won by the away team but can see this logic being defied this week. Really struggle to see a home team getting up. What I like this week:

Bombers -5.5 @ 1.90 v Sharks
Panthers +13.5 @ 1.90 v Hornets
Thunder Head to Head @ 1.70

Will probably place an even amount on these 3 games. Am confident in these getting up and only need to hit 2 of 3 for a nice profit. Putting North Adelaide to win in your multi's is value also as no way will an injury ravaged Labrador get up against a Sanfl outfit @ AAMI.

who do Labrador have out besides Notting?

If he was forced to step down it's an absolute joke. Clearly a knee jerk reaction.

If he was forced to step down (no other reason was stated on the website) it would be an absoulte joke!!!!!!!!!!! Pull your head in!!! Football is won over a seson not a 6 week block.

From memory did broadbeach season from last year is a good one to look... 5 and zip from memeory and still didnt make the finals. did the couch walk out after round 15????

Forced and a bad decison. Chin up Matty

Maybe the board discovered the coach is a imposter, ala full press and mongrel punt on this forum.
Like Aspley last year this was player driven. Not only from this season but results from previous years unacceptable with all the recruiting employed.Anthony Corrie played last week instead of a kid which was a disgrace as by all reports he couldn't even run in the warm up and was worse during the game.Next winner of Biggest Loser. Also warmed in black pants when every other player in white shorts.
New coach maybe lions, vultures assistant coach as of this year who was ass coach at Redlands last year

I reckon Nipper and Penguin would have more self respect - 2 great blokes with good footy heads treated poorly. They are smarter than that.

Chris David might be the man. Trav Johnstone is injured maybe a way to earn his keep. Blood a young Patty Garner - he has a real clue. Bring back Russ Harding. Apparently the cash is good. Have another crack at Blairy - might take it this time. Mark Holman, Grentell. Would jarrod Thorpe resurface - a few false starts. Rabbit Ryan from Yeronga, club stalwart Paul O'Brien still loves his footy, the Brittian Bros must be floating around somewhere, Shane Morrison might want to start his coaching career. Plenty of options out there.

Who do Labrador have injured - good call.
What is Zorko doing - is it really a Hammy?
Will the Eagle fly this week?
Can Southport win enough to stay of the bottom?
Can Redlands galvanise from here?
Are the Panthers back - only 1 win away from being in the thick of it?
Thunder are the best
Vultures - have they played anybody?
Aspley - mature or lucky?
Lions awaiting injuries and shortages?
GC - bigger list bigger concern?

This concept is interesting if nothing else - exciting times 7 rds in.

Who will play State??..Thats a key question going around the traps

At Mt Gravatt...Smith Gilliland & Proud must be certs..Labi, Furfaro...??? and would be flabbergasted if we dont have a few more...?
NT..sheesh...Ewing, Tangultum, Ilett, Vallejo, Palmer ..and others..?
Redlands...Carse, Charlesworth, Pullman....?
Southport...?
Morningside..Abey..Seagar..?
Aspley..Shir, Copleand, Page
Broadbeach..Zorko, Geary, Emery, Eagle, Fife
Labrador..Grayson, Davey
Suns/Lions...?

Southport Ruckman goes well - Weymouth - but an older bloke - like to see them pick younger guys.

Who else lads?

Labi and Seagar played 1 senior game this year.
With Nt playing next week in the foxtel cup on their bye week end, only other chance I think to have a week off is over state game week end.Be interesting if some players that want a rest make themselves unavail. If so they should not be allowed to played for nt the week after.
Tyrell will be ruckman.
3 sharks should be selected in Wise,Payne and Nichlaus.
Southport be happy that they playing a team this week end against a club in turmoil, coach wise.Teams that sack coach midweek usually win.

Toye from Aspley has to be in team.Wouldn't be surprised if he close to or in lead for Grogan at this time of year.

Spot on Chikka. Playing one game won't cut it. What about the season Gav Grose has had to date. Tyrell did a number on Weymouth a couple of weeks ago as well. Vearing in best just about every week as well.

As there is nio 21s this year is there any room for the younger brigade as they turn up each week and do a great job even to get them involved at the squad stage would send a message that qld football does look after the youngsters and are looking to the future
