Doubt it, they've got the highly credentialed Steven Trigg on the panel. 2 SANFL seasons as coach, 2 trophies. Confirmed Neil Craig as being the coach for 'as far as the eye can see', gone by the end of the year. Recruited and extended Sando for him to be moved on with 2 years left after his departure from the club.

Yep, if you're looking for a league-leading AFL coach, get Steven Trigg on your selection panel at the first available moment. Good luck Carlton.

He's not the only one on the panel. Judd alone would have a heap of influence.

That does give you a fair crack. I think with us it was Trigg, who led the board, and yes-men underlings. We didn't feel the need to bring in outside expertise, we were comfortable with our league-leading system. Not rocking the boat was the key to promotion and riches at the AFC.

We have Judd + Postecoglou + a Carlton great on the panel.

I think we will get it right... Trigg hasn't done much wrong since coming to the Blues.

I am sorry for your poor experience with him. But his job with us is a little more complex than playing a media blame game.

I think you've probably got your structures right. He basically ran the show here with zero accountability from above and full support from the SA media. He got lazy and arrogant and started to believe his own press. There's no way he'll be as bad for you guys, but he's not a great operator. There's not much substance underneath the spin.

You might be right; too early to call either way.

If he is still with us in 2018 he will be judged accordingly -- praised or otherwise but for the time being he has been solid.

Carlton presidents has a history of not taking much garbage from underperforming CEOs...and our current president fits in that category...Kernahan not so much but he was forced into the role.

Judd and Ang alone make me pretty comfortable the process will be completed in a way that it needs to be.
If you listen to the jungle drums it sounds like Bolton is the one to beat at the moment.

We need luck because we're picking the best available candidate from this field. No guarantee that getting another Hawthorn coach will be as good as Simpson, Beveridge, Cameron and Hardwick. Suns overlooked McKenna for Hinkley who hasn't backed up his 2014.

The board and management need a big shake up to improve their performance. Has to happen after their failure to control Mick, their foot-in-mouth comments about our list and the treatment of Shane Rogers who picked Cripps.
The last time you appointed a coach that had to lose to get draft picks was..................
Ratten coached finals and had us a kick away from the prelim...

Beveridge, Hardwick, Hinkley, Cameron and Simpson would receive a contract extension for taking on a bottom two list with holes.

I would have thought the Crows job would be way more appealing that what confronts him at Carlton.
It's very possible he was told we weren't interested. Or he hasn't been contacted by us yet because we're on record as saying that we won't start asking until respective seasons have finished.

I would argue that the Blues job is more appealing. To me (and me only), I would rather a complete blank canvass in order to do my job compared to a list that has some good points and bad but obviously is in a position to play finals. Will the Crows get top 4 and actually challenge with the current list? probably not. Therefore, whoever is the new coach is on a hiding to nothing.

More time with less expectations at Carlton at the moment (w***er powerbrokers notwithstanding).

A new coach could come in and do away with all but a handful of players and we could understand. We need the insidious cancer cut out from the club (w***er powerbrokers notwithstanding Vol 2).

It is bizarre that in the socialist environment of rebuilds, high draft picks and tanking that Carlton effed it up so much. They did not even get close with all of those picks. That stated, the sooner those rich pricks out away from your clubs' decision-making process, the better

Oh we have a lot of people wanting to get rid of the board and their ties to powerbrokers, but nobody coming up with any ideas to replace the extra revenue or putting hands up to be on the board.

Tom Elliot is the only one that has indicated he might challenge if we keep stuffing up but that's a horrible idea.

We need Mike Fitzpatrick, business and football acumen and the quality of director that might bring with it. Bring in alternative streams, bring in members and then tell powerbrokers to pipe down and stop giving them walk in access to all areas of the club.

Haha what a ridiculous post. Happy for you to take the blues.

So a list going nowhere near challenging for a top 4 spot even before what happened happened??

As before, I would take the Blues job.
There are a lot of sides in a worse position than us. Out side isn't very old. And your post isn't very good. You're asseating opinions as fact, and they aren't very informed opinions to begin with.
