Imagine the fallout if the Pies lost. Not that it would be the reason, but these things tend to be let go more easily when the result works out.

100%. Like the day before the granny. Just put your feet up and watch some Netflix or play some video games or something. Have some friends over. Going out in public, being on your feet all day, in the sun, is a terrible preparation for the biggest game of his life. I actually think it was a factor in him leaving.

IMO the Hawks need to try to split pick 4 into 2 first rounders, and then Pies chuck in Ginnivan and 19 for a pick in the early teens.

Crows's 14 might get it done. Something like this:

Pies:
IN: Pick 14
OUT: Ginnivan, Pick 19

Hawks:
IN: Pick 10, Pick 19, Ginnivan
OUT: Pick 4

Crows:
IN: Pick 4
OUT: Pick 10, Pick 14

I say this as a fellow Pies fan that this is a horrific overestimation of Ginnivan's worth

First time I've heard Cameron's name mentioned, but could easily be either of them. Back of the head is obviously hard to ID someone, but the hair style matches either. Both of their partners also look very similar.
A lot of smoke around it though, with him deleting most of his social media presence and the trade coming from nowhere and going through quickly for a bargain basement price.

Thats a pretty fair deal for both parties. Collingwood could have done a lot worse given they were trying to push him out. If they finish the same position as this year (not factoring in compensation picks) that is:

Hawthorn: Ginnivan, 2023 Pick 39, 2024 Pick 36, 2024 Pick 72
Collingwood: 2023 Pick 33, 2024 Pick 21, 2024 Pick 39

A few pick upgrades for the Pies for Ginnivan. These deals always come out in hindsight, if Hawks are bottom 2 and Pies win the flag it looks pretty good for the Pies, if Hawks rise up half a dozen spots and Collingwood get knocked out in a PF for example then it's pretty decent for the Hawks.
