Reading this ahead of the RCB v Chennai game in terms of qualification, should it become down to a head to head for them to qualify for that final finals spot:

If their margin of victory is smaller, they can qualify only if SRH lose both their games, by any margin, and stay on 14. A defeat or a washout against CSK will knock RCB out of the tournament.

I preferred the IPL when it had 8 teams playing each other twice. With enough double headers, 60 games could be done in about 7 weeks. Good quantity of games without disrupting the international calendar too much.
Now, it's about 9 weeks long and if they go to 94 games in the next few years, we're looking potentially 12 weeks of no international cricket, which then becomes problematic certainly for people who prefer international cricket to franchise cricket.
