Two observations on Super Sunday 28/4/24:

* Gujarat were too slow in that first 6 overs. RCB ended up chasing that with ease in the 17th over. Getting the lower end of 40 odd runs in a powerplay is not enough. Felt like Gujarat were satisfied at the interval.........but it proved heavily wrong with Jacks and Kohli smashing them with ease.

* SRH more than any other side , rely upon their imports more than any other side. Klaasen and Head had their rare fails. If I were SRH , Id be tempted to get Phillps or Jansen into that side. The problem for Markram is he thinks going along at 8/an over in the powerplay and overs 7 to 10 are a pass mark.

There are better T20 Batsman in Australian better than Markram for me, that havent got an IPL gig.

eg Aaron Hardie, Ben McDermott, that Brisbane Heat opener plugged out of grade cricket, Beau Webster, Chris Lynn.

None of those bats play spin well sorry but they don't. Markram does. Lynn was terrible in the IPL. Hardie is still young so maybe.

Put Markram in the Big Bash and I genuinely dont think he performs as better all-round wise as someone like an Aaron Hardie or even Beau Webster. He for me is one of the most overrated batters going around.
