Interesting to see the stats from 97-Hinkley to see how it marries up

In our Premiership season we only had 1 game that was a goalless quarter. I also noted that we started the season with a 96 point WIN against Essendon and a 83 point WIN against Hawthorn in Round 3. This was after losing the Preliminary Final by 44 points.

It should also be noted that after we got thrashed by the Kangaroos we bounced back the next week with a 78-point WIN against Richmond.

I just can't see any of that happening under Hinkley so when people use the "BuT ChoCo LoST 2 PreLiMS As WEll" argument it doesn't really stack up compared to how Port were playing in 2004 compared to 2022!

John Cahill- 8 goalless quarters in 2 seasons
Mark Williams- 41 goalless quarters in close to 12 seasons (Last game Round 15 2010)
Matthew Primus- 12 goalless quarters in 2 seasons (Round 16 2010-Round 19 2012)

The worst ever season for goalless quarter was in 2010 when there were 8!
The 2nd worst season was 2011 when there were 7.

One more goalless quarter from a Hinkley coached team and he will be equal with Mark Williams for goalless quarters despite coaching for less games.

Mark Williams got sacked after losing 8 games in a row with an average losing margin of 30 points.

Hinkley is now up to a 5 game losing streak with an average losing margin of 36 points.

With stats like that, I can imagine Ken wearing his Port top to bed, and his missus says to him, "You won't score tonight, wearing that!!!"
Ken wouldn't own any Port merchandise.

Ken wouldn't own any Port merchandise.

Probably goes to sleep in his SUNS top, fondly remembering the time he spent at a club where they didn't really mind being the 'someone who had to lose' and there weren't even any supporters to demand they think otherwise.

Worth remembering that in the latter half of Williams era and then the Primus era we had lists comprising ageing, soon-to-retire premiership/experienced players and a buttload of list cloggers, plus being impacted by the expansion and no finals. Hinkley has had lists that made finals (albeit inconsistently), including three preliminary finals and lists which some 'experts' sometimes described as incredible depth, sound drafting and trading and first picked players like Robbie GOAT, Love Boak, Fine Wines etc etc. Compare the Pear.

Ken definitely has the worst record. We all know that it's only a matter of time before we have another goalless quarter and Ken takes the record officially.

Ding ding ding! It happened!

Our inaccuracy at goal in the 2nd half could have cost us dearly, another goal less quarter in the last.

This is why imo Port have and will have limited success, it's been a part of our game under Hinkley, along with goal less quarters.
It's a shame that all the work hardery for longery gets wasted in front of the big sticks.

The best part about Ken's game plan is that it cures insomniacs everywhere - if you're having trouble sleeping, just turn on a Port replay. We play the most boring football in the AFL, and that's solely on the coach.
