Wow wee. Bit to digest here!

I read the Social Media policy breach at the end there. Obviously only applies to the TSL and not the leagues below that.
I noticed one SFL club posting where the booze buses were so that supporters could avoid them after the Grand Final, one last year involving a player being suspended for racial vilification saw that player's teammates all leave "laughing" emojis' and derogatory comments all over the league's post. Interesting.

Anyone care to share the alleged incident with respect to French?

Not sure if 'socialising' with the the players was the only issue. Maybe the straw that broke the camel's back as they say.

Lets face it, they recruited from interstate, had quite a few Devils players, recruited a gun fitness coach, but won 3 games. All 3 were against a Glenorchy team that had basically nothing.

With some good young players, we've seen no improvement. None.

The club really needs a good external review. They've been through coaches like a drunk through a carton of Cascade Green. Its hard to see what the clubs direction is.

We see great passion & effort from a lot of people in the club. But whats the long term strategy?

Going in circles is not a useful strategy. The club needs a quality coach for a start.

I know it’s only been a day since he got the sack but does anyone have any mail on who might’ve taking over as coach at NH? Saw this In a comment on the mercurys article

Playing Assistant Coach, he was recruited as.
Ripping bloke too, I used to bowl with him many years ago before he played footy at Central Hawks and later Brighton, still stops for a good chat every time I see him.
Ozguy would know, but I think his dad, Ray, was a record goalkicker in the ODFA several years back (early 90s)?
Agree 100% Callen is a great guy.

Ray is still the Season record holder for goals with 131.

Could only imagine what Cal could have done with his talent and his dad's height.

Yes agree totally. Ray is a very tall man, could never figure out how Cal was so short with his brother and father being so tall! Must've got Michelle's height!

I thought there may have been another brother. Only knew, Cal, Nathan and Aaron. All added together might equal Ray's height

At some point AFLTAS will have to announce what’s happening with this competition?
The AFL decision keeps drawing it out I assume but you would think AFLTAS has its mind made up.
It’s less then a year until 7 clubs wont have a competition potentially. Surely this isn’t fair when recruiting and retaining?
Will make it hard for NH to get a coach.

Surely the TSL has to continue with a Tasmanian AFL team seemingly likely to be introduced?
I think it will be replaced with a VFL program.
Also It’s been 12 years since an all Southern Grand final, they can’t compete.
North Hobart and Glenorchy will be just as bad next year.

I think it needs to be part of the structure of football here. When we had a VFL team, the rgional competitions were not good enough to underpin that VFLteam. The standard was too low.

Clearly though, The TSL needs better balance,

It needs at least 1 team from the NW Coast & one less from the South.

I think the club most at risk is Lauderdale. They've done a good job but may be the unlucky club if we see a rebalancing on the competition'.

If it is to be, then the reasons may be that the Lauderdale ground & facilities are terrible. Also the population is not even between the Eastern shore & the western part of the city. It would be silly to have Clarence & Lauderdale & only Kingston & one other team on the Western shore of the city.

Its all supposition at this stage, but something to think about.

Wouldn't Kingston, North Hobart and Glenorchy make three clubs on the western shore? Albeit Kingston a fair bit further down the road.

They do. I was talking about if the TSL were to be better balanced with 4 southern & a NWC team.

If that were to happen, which southern team is most likely to go. I said Lauderdale as their facilities are poor, if not, it would leave only 2 teams on the western shore.

Its only supposition.

We may yet end up with no TSL. That would be a terrible outcome IMO.

Christensen officially announced. Lauderdale done a good job how they've managed their decision. Smart work. Hearing most happy with the change but not all. Some will leave but there's always change to lists. If Mitch isn't drafted will be a big pick up.
