I get the FTTN tech but I'm considering switching to 5G.
Can anyone here explain how the 5G works and is it a benefit to do the switch?
Can you explain it with regard to hardware, money, bandwidth, and performance?
Thanks.

I'm not all that impressed with 5g so far, i can't really pinpoint the reason why. It's not as fast as they cracked it up to be and the stabilty is not that great. Hmmm i'm not a fan really.

5G home internet works the same way as a mobile broadband device does. It's a sim card in a modem that picks up the 5G signal in your area.

I recently made the change from FTTN to 5G and my results are so in favour of 5G it's laughable. Constantly getting in the ball park of 250-300GBPS download where I am, but its important to note thay your mileage may vary depending on the build up of homes In your area and the strength of 5G signal in your home.

Thanks to you two for replying.
It sounds like a 50/50 option ATM. I did read at one ISP site that relocating the modem to somewhere else has its consequences like suspension or cancellation of account if detected.
Another question - is operation of an off-shore VPN affected?
