Vale Terry Norris, wonderful Australian actor. Pictured here with wife (and fellow actor), Julia Blake, and in perhaps his best-known role in Cop Shop. Terry was 92.

Barry was a brilliant comic and it’s sad to think we won’t see new versions of his spontaneity and acerbic commentary.

I remember as a teenager travelling into town (specifically the newsstand under the clocks at Flinders St Railway Station) to buy a copy of the King’s Cross Whisper because it had the comic strip ‘The Adventures of Barry McKenzie’. It was a bit rude. A bit uncouth. It made me laugh.

The other characters existed at the time but who knew until he became an international superstar. Dame Edna dominated but he was so much more than a one trick pony.

Rest in peace.

Just seen this. Great actor. Sad. RIP Alan Arkin.

I loved watching Arkin work. There was something in it that made you love those quirky roles. I recently watched him and Michael Douglas face off in the Kominsky Method and it was thoroughly entertaining. Sad day. RIP.
