No major surprises but may help to explain some selection decisions and drop in form of some players.

Bugger me but no operation for Johnny Butcher. That is a great sign.

But Monfries hip operation - means he wont go to Dubai, or if he does he will be on a very modified running program.

3 shoulder surgeries means those guys will be doing the running stuff but might not do any body contact work until after Christmas. Reckon Hammer didn't do anything until January after his shoulder operation last off season.

That explains Ebo's hand balling.... Now how does that explain his kicking?

If you can't drop the ball onto your boot properly you wont kick it properly.

See Tredders 2004, he played Rd 20 or something 2004 up in Darwin - did his shoulder - could have been season ending. He was jabbed up for the next Friday night game against Collingwood. He monstered Clement - out marking him in every contest. Went on and kicked 2 or 3 goals, but also 5 behinds. Everyone whinged Tredders is a hopeless set shot but he improved out of sight that year. He was jabbed up so much, that he couldn't drop the ball properly.

Eddie Dingle tells an interesting story about that night when he was in the rooms and the President gave the club advise how to handle things.

They were all obvious ones. Schulz hadn't taken an overhead mark in a very long time and grabbed for his shoulder after most body contact.

White we knew had groin issues so that's a no brainer.

Gus couldn't kick over a jam tin and was obviously struggling, no surprise there either.

Ebert struggled with overhead marking and had heavy strapping on the shoulder(s), so it was also obvious that one too. To play as a midfielder with shoulder problems is a huge effort.

Pleasantly short list. Good luck to those getting surgery. Amazing how they managed to play through their injuries to the standard they did.

Ebo must have done his shoulder early in the year. There was a game very early in the season where he did not put his arms out to break a fall and let his face do the work.

Monfries hip flexor been a problem for a fair time. Reason why his kicking was so short.

Young may explain why he didn't play finals.

White, knew he had a groin problem. Schultz, had no idea.

To have only 5 people on the surgery list is amazing

Didnt we have about 15 or so going for surgery under falloon each year?

Falloon was like "JUST GET A KOSMODISK, WILL FIX YOU RIGHT UP!"

A lot of important players there. Sure hope that the recovery doesn't drag out too long...
