Looks like WCER are up for the fight.....good challenge for EF trailing by 2 pts heading into the final quarter....time for a few EF players to stand up. Missing J Marsh for sure....not sure what is the deal with Leggett as well.

I think that 4pt margin flattered EF TBH. WCER deserving winners. Definitely not the result most EF and WAFL fans expected, but just goes to show any team can win in this comp when they are on song.

Not sure the deal with JMarsh, but his height and presence up front was certainly missed. Looks like a bit of soul searching to be done with in the playing group, especially with the bye next week. Huge game after the bye with SD, both teams desperate for the win.

So JMarsh is out for another 5 weeks, obviously that hammy was a lot more then the perceived tightness.....also Joyce is out for 3 with a calf....though with Joyce's injury history, that is par for the course. Good to see Eardley(if plays) named at HB in the league side, and O'Reilly and Boekhorst in the reserves after long lay offs.

Josh Cripps looks likely to make his debut, well deserved too. With Leggett out for a week with personal reasons, would like to see Cocking get a debut,. A similar height to Leggett and possesses a good footy IQ as well, and knows where the goals are.

The next 5 games look season defining for EF, lose more than they win, and they could easily find themselves too far off the pace. Good test for the playing group, especially with a few important players in J/H Marsh, Gorringe, Montubaun and Joyce out.

Yeah looked like SD imploded in that last 10 mins with some brain fades. Fantastic kick for goal after the siren by Jackson McDonald to seal and steal the game for EF. Very apt he kicked it in front of the SD fans sitting in the McDonald Stand too.....some pretty peeved off SD fans as well.

Good to see Eardley back, though still a few underperforming EF players, who need to lift their games. RMcGuire looks a bit lost playing forward, with Teakle taking over the number 1 ruck duties. Definitely miss that JMarsh presence up front.

The forwards were fairly quiet. Lawler didn't do much. Schoenfeld skills have dropped

Lawler definitely went missing for large periods. Considering Teakle took that important mark in the dying minutes playing as a forward, and RMcGuire looks a bit lost not being EF number 1 ruck....whilst JMarsh is out, would it not make sense to play Teakle up front? McGuire had a great year in 2023 as EF premiership ruckman.....

Good to see Boekhorst get through the reserves game unscathed....as did O'Reilly, though he only played till half time. Also EF will regain another tall this week, though he may be a tad rusty....but definitely first 22.

Another big game for both sides today between EF and Subi. Would like to think that last 10 mins v SD, where EF came back from the dead to win at the death, will fire up EF season.

Definitely been a slow old start to EF premiership defence, not helped with a self inflicted minus 4 points start, injuries to key players, delay in setting up home at Moss St and a few too many players still living in 2023.

Bill has resisted the temptation of bringing Boekhorst back after his solid reserves comeback last week. Probably wise considering the 6 day break. Joyce and Leggett return, with last week's clutch hero McDonald and Lawler going out for personal reasons. RMcGuire misses out and is named in the reserves to find some of that 2023 form. Holmes comes in and youngsters in Cripps and Dunscombe keep their spots.

Subi have been up n down with their form, beating Peel & WP, but losing to Perth and Cl. Mayo and Sokol are two classy goalkickers with Borchet providing that tall presence up front. Something that EF lack with JMarsh out. Going to be a scrap me thinks, with EF hopefully coming out on top.

Good to see a fantastic team effort in the win over Subi, plus a good spread of goalkickers. Leggett hitting the scoreboard was a positive, and Teakle continues with his fantastic season so far.

Thought Subi would of been a greater threat TBH, but I guess that was down to EF stepping up a gear after quarter time. I see Boekhorst didn't play reserves yesterday, hopefully that was a precaution after EF 6 day turn around. As the fella has been out of action for over 18 months before the SD game last weekend.

Another big game next weekend v EP, obviously McDonald and Lawler available. Be interesting to see if Cripps keeps his spot or Blakiston comes in, as Teakle will need some back up v Jones next weekend. Teakle playing forward is a bonus especially with JMarsh still a few weeks away.
