Does anyone else have question marks over Hird's career now?

I read a while back that Hird had a relationship with Shane Charters going back to his playing days. With everything that has happened and given Hird's apparent approval of substances "pushing the boundaries" I wonder what he actually took as a player? He was struck down by injury quite badly through the middle of his career as I recall, but seemed to get over them well and really did get back to his best.

Am I the only one who questions whether everything he did to get back on track was completely above board?

Andrew Rule might have answers for you.

Someone should have lectured James on the fall of Armstrong.

That trophy wall is why i have my doubts about the AFL having the stomach to abide by any impending infractions.

shane charter should really be awarded an honourary brownlow. like michele ferrari, preparatore to the stars. its like dancing with the stars, but instead of coke, its epo and testosterone.

Hate all these dirty smears about James.

No question marks over Hird's playing career, he could barely make it onto the park at the best of times, such was his lack of durability.

I remember it being reported that he had a possible career-ending ankle injury. Then he magically recovered from it and actually came back better. That was really the only thing that made me suspicious.

can be a confirmation bias. but often PEDs will just rip your body apart, not allow you to get on the field with the supercharged engine. but they also can be signigicantly beneficial for rehab and returning from injury? again, confirmation bias, but with an alternative pov.

Should be stripped of his brownlow, so should Jobe.

AFL is a joke.

Jesus, good thing you're not Andrew Demetriou. If you'd strip Hird of his Brownlow based on current evidence, you would have deregistered 3/4 of Essendon and banished the remainder to the Northern Territory league.

Agree about stripping Jobe, he is a drug user (whether deliberate or not).
