It is something that the govt should probably address as a issue.

You cant say "testing is good" then make it financially inaccessible.

At the very least it should be free for pensioners. The fact it isnt makes it disingenuous as a option for sure

Germany would subsidise them..
They not in a great place now winter came as nothing was mandated..
Nor where friends are in the US.. She said if they told people not to take the vax most would of by now

the 5% to be vaxed some are people who really worried I can understand that
A big % just do not like to be told anything and want to create trouble.
out of the 95% who where vaxed I say half did not want to be.. So they all now joining in as well

Are parents not going to want to associate with with other (vaxxed) parents if their children aren't vaccinated? Are parents going to prevent their young children (talking under 12) from socialising/playing sport with other children if they haven't been vaccinated?

Know a couple of kids who have anto vaxer mums who thinking just to sneak off and get it

We got jabbed for lots of things at school
If it wasnt so highly politicised it would just have been send out the consent forms and the nice nurses are coming to the library on Tuesday, like it was when I was a kid

Under 12s can't currently get vaccinated.

More like you can't have a playdate at that kids house because their parents were at the freedom rallies and don't believe covid is real.

Feel sorry for the poor kid but yeah not a safe house

Most were primary school we are talking in the 70s
Might have had measles in high school...not sure ?

Yeah I definitely had at least one vaccine given at primary school. I remember a kid crying after someone punched him in the arm where he had been jabbed. That was mid to late 80's so things may have changed now.

Now today.

South African health authorities have raised concerns about the increasing number of children being hospitalised with moderate to severe symptoms of the Omicron variant.
The country is in the fourth wave of the pandemic driven by Omicron.

Dr Rudo Mathivha, Head of Intensive Care at Chris Hani Baragwanath hospital, said a 15-year-old died following a Covid-19 infection, and a 17-year-old is in ICU with coronavirus-related pneumonia. It’s not known if they had the Omicron variant.

“The situation is pretty concerning,” Dr Mathivha told The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC).

“This is not something that we had observed with the first, second and third wave. In the past, the children used to get Covid-19 infection. It wouldn’t really send them to hospital in big numbers to be admitted,” Dr Mathivha said.

She warned the hospital may soon not be able to accommodate any more children.

The doctor urged parents to get their children vaccinated.

Sorry, but I am interested in actual data and science, so visit many places on the internet. I don't subscribe to the confirmation bias that the deniers of science seem to thrive on.

Maybe you should check your own echo chamber and start listening to actual scientists, rather than anonymous posters called "Big Cox" on internet forums?

Covid superspreader event may be only thing to push Qld to 90 per cent fully vaccinated


It could take a Covid superspreader to convince reluctant Queenslanders to get vaccinated and help the state hit the 90 per cent double-jabbed target, according to the Health Minister and leading disease experts.
Predictions on when Queensland will reach 90 per cent – viewed as the trigger point for the further easing of restrictions, have fluctuated wildly, with the latest projection estimating the target would be reached some time in mid-January.

While Queensland will hit 80 per cent in a matter of days, the next 10 per cent may be achieved only if the state faces a surge in Covid cases once interstate travellers arrive en masse.

How would you know if you like it? What makes you like it more than any others? Do you have relevant knowledge or expertise in the area to make that decision?

What if the TGA doesn't approve it because it doesn't meet their standards?

To me it almost comes across like people want Novavax to fail because they dont have that one themselves

I'm all for more vaccine options and development. I just find it hilarious that uninformed people with absolutely no expertise in the area think they know better than the TGA or other scientists with genuine expertise in the area.

The anti-vaxx crowd have latched on to Novavax for their vaccine choice, because the Independent Thinkers all Independently Think what they've been told to think by whatever Independent Thinking resource they find these things on. I can almost guarantee you a large amount of those people will not get Novavax when it's actually available, because they're just using it as an excuse not to get vaccinated now with vaccines that are effective, safe, and that have had billions of doses administered, and are instead holding out for an option that's not yet approved, been widely administered, and has been created by a company who's never had a widely produced and distributed vaccine.

The Andrews government was warned ongoing lockdowns were driving suicides shortly after Victoria entered its fourth lockdown.
A briefing note to mental health Minister James Merlino warned “Covid-related stressors” were behind suicides, including two “following the recent lockdown in the context of unemployment.”

The June 2021 ministerial briefing also cited Coroners Court data that nearly 10 per cent of suicides in the first 12 months of the pandemic were linked to Covid “policy decisions”.

And it warned that “lockdown measures” were having an “adverse impact on mental health”.

Shadow minister for mental health Emma Kealy, who obtained the note under Freedom of Information laws, accused the government of gross negligence for failing to act on the advice.

“These revelations are a disturbing reflection of the gross negligence of a Premier and minister who knew the impact Labor’s Covid response was having on Victorian lives, but chose not to act,” she said.

Revelations of the warnings come just days after Daniel Andrews bragged that Victoria’s Covid response had been a “triumph” on a radio podcast.

“The Victorian families who lost loved ones in Daniel Andrews’ lockdowns or those who are still struggling to live with the mental health impacts today will be sickened by the Premier bragging that Labor’s Covid response is a “triumph”,” Ms Kealy said.
