I kept a running tally of this in autopsy threads through 2023. I've decided to just make its own thread in 2024. It's one way to measure who is consistently having a high level impact in games.

Here is the leaderboard for number of times listed in the coaches votes:

1. Max Holmes (5)

2. Jeremy Cameron (4)
2. Gryan Miers (4)

4. Tom Stewart (2)
4. Patrick Dangerfield (2)
4. Tyson Stengle (2)
4. Mark Blicavs (2)

8. Tom Atkins (1)
8. Tom Hawkins (1)
8. Oliver Dempsey (1)
8. Tanner Bruhn (1)
8. Jack Bowes (1)
8. Zach Guthrie (1)
8. Brad Close (1)
8. Mitch Duncan (1)
8. Brandan Parfitt (1)
8. Oliver Henry (1)

Or expressed as % of full games played this season (not counting incomplete games from injuries):

1. Max Holmes (5/7 = 71.4%)

2. Patrick Dangerfield (2/3 = 66.7%)

3. Jeremy Cameron (4/7 = 57.1%)
3. Gryan Miers (4/7 = 57.1%)

5. Tom Stewart (2/5 = 40.0%)

6. Tyson Stengle (2/7 = 28.6%)
6. Mark Blicavs (2/7 = 28.6%)

8. Jack Bowes (1/4 = 25.0%)

9. Tom Atkins (1/5 = 20.0%)

10. Tom Hawkins (1/6 = 16.7%)
10. Tanner Bruhn (1/6 = 16.7%)
10. Mitch Duncan (1/6 = 16.7%)
10. Brandan Parfitt (1/6 = 16.7%)

14. Zach Guthrie (1/7 = 14.3%)
14. Brad Close (1/7 = 14.3%)
14. Oliver Dempsey (1/7 = 14.3%)
14. Oliver Henry (1/7 = 14.3%)

Dangerfield was probably headed for more coaches votes on the weekend, which would have put him in the proportional lead at 75%. He remains a high impact player when he can get on the park, as he was even through our difficult 2023 with his second half of the season ruined by niggles/knocks.

Holmes is off to a fantastic start and could maybe end up a smokey for AA contention if he keeps this form up.

Cameron has replicated his strong start to 2023. Let's hope he gets a good run at it and continues it this year.

Miers efforts are being rewarded more than they were in 2023. One more time in the votes would match his season last year.

Stewart rounds out the top 5, as expected.

Stengle's uptick in form has been recognised.

Otherwise, a good spread so far.

Holmes listed in the votes in 7 out of 9 games is pretty consistent
This is why pre-season I was beating the drum that Holmes for us could easily emerge into a Rozee-type player with that sort of output. Fair enough this year it's involved a slight role change but in time I think he can have this influence in midfield. At the moment as a 21 year old he is consistently finishing around the 5th best player on the ground. His improvement could see that turn into more of the BOGs and near-BOGs that the top midfielders roll in commonly, and that he did against Melbourne.
