Im looking to get my son a new laptop for school. He is using something called Unity for IST (Information, Software, Technology) which is fairly heavy on system needs.
Goal is I7, 16G of RAM, 512G SSD, and if an actual graphics card can happen great, but if not, I think the Iris XE graphics is about the best integrated you can get. Also, maybe 8G of RAM if with an actual graphics card.
I like Dell and Lenovo and also dont mind HP.
Ive checked the Dell store and the US has Black Friday sales but the AUS store doesnt. However, when comparing prices to JB HiFi who are having sales, the Dell store looks as good or better.
Anyone able to offer some advice on where to look? The price range would be $800 to $1,000. Sadly I bought him a new laptop at the start of the year but it was under $700 and doesnt cut it with Unity (2 cores, cheap CPU, 8G RAM, etc.).
