Okay, at the moment it's changing maps whenever a team gets to two wins, and it's only playing arena maps.
Until the time ends - default time is 20 minutes. I'd say that's a good number for now.
For all maps, though, I'd say half an hour is good too.

So I stumbled into this thread at work today thanks to some brilliant advertising from Chief. I am not a gamer, never have been and probably never will be, but I thought I would try this. Downloaded in 1hr 16 mins 
, updates done, server added (thanks to Kerrby's informative post). I did the training thing, and managed to shovel many a person to death.
So I joined the 'party', and gave it a whirl for a few minutes, but I was running around like a headless chook. WHERE THE **** DO I GET WEAPONS FROM? I gave up after I think Glinn Mgraw killed me.

Who were you, and what do you need explained?
You get weapons from what are called "drops" - after you die, you may randomly get a new weapon, which you will be notified of.
