Teams can have a max of 10 players signed beyond this season prior to the start of this upcoming 10-day player movement window

I can't remember which journo mentioned it, but Hobart currently have 8 players contracted with David, Meridith & Owen unsigned - not sure if they'll re-sign two prior to tonight's game, or try to get commitments from them for beyond this season

Tom Morris will some more signing news

A few days ago it was Morris who was suggesting Agar could be on the move to Vic with the Gades interested - so not sure if this means he's now signed or if it'll be a trade for a contracted player

Updated info

In what universe would Dorf not be in the best 10 players?

Staggering if they let him go.

The following is from an article on the 16th - it has Agar also out-of-contract, but with him not mentioned above it seems to indicate he's re-signed

The Scorchers – the most successful BBL club since the competition’s launch - have several experienced players out-of-contract, including Behrendorff’s long-time seam ally Andrew Tye and spinning all-rounder Ashton Agar.

The trio have been key plans of Perth’s success over the past decade but with three wins from nine matches this season it’s believed the club’s hierarchy is keen to regenerate, leaving all three players potentially on the outer.

Yep
Agar has signed on for another 3 years.

Tye can go.

So do we keep signing players like Inglis who hardly play at all?

Dorf would be the number 1 target for most clubs I would've thought.

Would prefer Dorf and Marsh ahead of Kelly. But not sure who else you push out of the 10.

Like what I saw of Beardman last night.
I doubt Kelly is one of those contracted players.

Edit** Kelly is contracted.
FMD.

Who opens for the Stars next year if they manage to sign these two?

You don’t change a winning formula. You’d be silly not to stick with Sam Harper and Tom Rogers… I’d still love to see Maxwell open.

Marsh would be a massive get considering his test days are done. He’s quality at BBL level.

I'd assume it's $$$ they have re signed turner for 4 years plus they have a lot of players on that roster including Connelly that will want upgrades. They are probably just looking at their cap balance

You would assume Marsh opens (much as that would make me puke) unless they push Cartwright up like they did years ago. But Cartwright stoinis and Maxwell and David are all better finishers. Whoever is their keeper (ie whoever they replace Harper with) probably has to open as there isn't room for them anywhere else.
It's also a lot of all rounders in one team so squad balance would be interesting.

Rogers looks a likely option - from the above article, here's the Stars contract situation

Out of contract: Brody Couch, Sam Harper, Campbell Kellaway, Jon Merlo, Joel Paris, Mark Steketee, Doug Warren, Beau Webster
