Mountains, that sort of thing, not USC............ but I wonder............................., the two of them.

(Choppy leaves computer for 10 minutes to vomit uncontrollably at the thought, so much so that he develops bad stomach cramps)

I thought I had never read such a piece of non newsworthy irrelevent piece of tripe dressed up as a so called exclusive scoop as was displayed in the Herald Sun today until I remembered a bi tch by the name of USC.

(Choppy dry wretches, gargles, eyes water, cold shivers at thought).

So the crux of the exclusive is that a bank has the ability to call debts off an organisation that does not repay them when they are due. Would not all clubs, even the AFL be subject to similiar arrangements. What Barret is lacking in intelligence, he more than makes up for in stupidity.

Obviouslly I have been living on another planet until this morning or has something changed.

Barrett, you are a stupid half wit and a try hard USC. Get thucked you insignificant piece of snot.

I heard Barrett interviewed on 3AW's Sunday Sports program yesterday and he didn't sound like a roos supporter. He knew very little about membership figures and sponsors. He also said that this document was obtained through the ASC as North are a publicly listed company and this sort of document is public property for anyone who's interested enough to request it. AW's Tony Shaw and Clinton Grybas were all "doom and gloom" of course but were put in their place by a North supporter who accused the media of "North bashing" again. I notice there's a follow up by the Hun's Michael Stevens today quoting an "unnamed" former Fitzroy committee member suggesting that North are in the deep brown stuff just as the Roys were 5 years ago. Man the barricades and put on your helmets folks! Incoming ***** bombs!!

They have all said that there has been another club that is in exactly the same situation but I guess that becasuse they aren't publicly listed that it was all a bit too hard to find out who they are!!

Good balanced piece of journalism again - NOT!!!

And is Damien Barrett and Michael Stevens the same person - may as well have cut and pasted the article from Sunday to Monday.

Look out for ****e Mike's exclusive tomorrow on how North have a clause inserted in their agreement with Westpac, with a follow up on Wednesday by John Anderson regarding a new clause with Westpac by the Kangaroos!!

I can't wait for the next big exposure - "Cash Strapped Kangaroos to wear Blue and White Stripes during season 2002!!

Cheers

Gonzo

Pity there was no such bank clause with......ohhhh..
say..
HIH
One tel
Ansett
etc
etc

The truth of the matter is the Roos ARE struggling. We all know that. They do find it difficult to make end meet -along with about 6 other AFL clubs, three quarters of the business world, and most people who are paying off a mortgage.

BTW Damian, I hope you won't be offended when we read in tomorrow's paper that there is a clause in your mortgage that your bank will be able to sell your property if you default on repayments.
O sorry, I forgot, you're a journo. Nobody in their right mind would lend you any funds!!

Gee we all the know the Roos are broke. Doom and gloom articles about us are becoming so boring I do not understand why journalists still persist.

Who is the unnamed ex Fitzroy director ? Is he/she living or dead ? Did Barratt contact this person via telephone/email or via a seance ?

I do remember Greg Miller making a comment at a club function that Damian Barratt and Geoff Poulter were both North Melbourne supporters.

Barratt also wrote that North have a strong, loyal and understanding supporter base. I have become less tolerant of us playing home games interstate but because of my love for the club I will be renewing my membership.

hotham

I challenged Barrett some months ago on another piece of crap he wrote about North, and he responded by telling me that he was a North supporter. He declined to carry the debate any further though, because he took exception to my statement that journalists and ethics were mutually exclusive.
I guess he just proved my point for me - again.;)

It was only after I read the article the second time (you may ask why would I bother) but they way it was written gave you the impression that the former director was on the board at North when in fact it was the opinion of a former Fitzroy director.

I am sure that the majority of people who read the article would have got the impression that one of Norths directors had left the board because of the so called problem.

I have worked in the Banking industry for over 20 yrs and can say from personal experience that banker / customer dealings should always be dealt with in a confidential manner.

The dealings mentioned in recent news articles are in fact covered by strict privacy laws.

How would any of us like our financial affairs being made public and bandied about in the Press.

Eg "Cororoo spent $5000 at the casino and didn't make his mortgage repayment" is not as juicy as North's affairs it seems.

Seriously , Easy has said that North's repayment arrangements are timed to coincide with AFL payments to the Club.

If this is the case , there is nothing to fear. So long as the agreement is honoured.

If I was involved in the financial affairs of the Club I would be asking the Bank how the media gained details of the types of security required cover it's facilities.

saw Choppy and Darky and thought wtf both here on the same night, I went out looking for the full moon.

Inb4 lock....16 years later......?

Why? The thread clearly exposes Barrett as anti North flog.

Sure he can hide behind the "hey I'm a North supporter too" line there's a poster on this site that calls itself 'That's Wright'. That's the sort of supporter Barrett is.

He ain't no Eddy, KB, or Ron Casey.

Barrett is hurting our brand with his articles. Sure when people ask him who he barracks for he says North, but is he a supporter? No. He doesn't support North. He's not fighting for us. He's just another journalist trying to earn a quid in an era where Journalists outnumber footballers.

He's sold out.
