Five matches into the WAFL season and two teams have an identical for and against.

Doubt this happens often, especially by the five game mark.

Essendon's and Collingwood's match on Anzac Day ended in a draw.

Last night, Collingwood defeated Carlton 79-85 and tonight Essendon defeated West Coast 71-77 as the "away" team, ending with the same tight margin of 6 points

I posted this on the deaths list on General Discussion, but former Dockers player Cam McCarthy who died on Thursday (also the first GWS Giants AFL player to die) was born on 1st April 1995 - the same day that the Fremantle Dockers played their first ever game against Richmond at the MCG - while the last Dockers game played in his sadly short lifespan was Richmond vs. Fremantle at the MCG last Sunday.

It's like when Alan Bond died in 2015, he was Tigers president and Bond Corporation Richmond's major sponsor in the 1980s and at the same time put Fremantle on the map with the defense of the America's Cup in 1987. A Fremantle vs Richmond game happened to be played at Subiaco Ovel on the same day of his passing.

Check out the scoreboard during the match from last Friday night in Perth, Wow Freaky!

Went to the game on Friday and took a pic at nearly the same time as well (1 minute earlier) - just loved the symmetry of the score.

Funny enough we are sitting right on the edge of that pic - can just make us out.

2005 - Richmond beat Sydney at MCG, Sydney win premiership
2012 - Richmond beat Sydney at MCG, Sydney win premiership
2024 - Richmond beat Sydney at MCG
And both those years Richmond finished 12th

Expect big improvement from the Tigers second half of the season.

During the AFL era in a year ending with a 6 and 7

1996 Adelaide did not make the finals 1997 Adelaide won the Premiership, their first

2016 Richmond did not make the finals 2017 Richmond won the Premiership, breaking a 37 year drought

Currently all 5 teams in the SANFL with ‘Adelaide’ in their name occupy the bottom 5 positions

This must be clarkos 5 year plan

2 points for a win and percentage is based on breaking even?
Has the SANFL always done that?

Yes, as long as I can remember

For the uninitiated, the % is calculated as 100*For/(For + Against)

It’s also had 25m penalties since 1991 (along with 50s for more serious infringements)
