Bradley "Brad" Helbig landed at Tigerland with pick #47 in the 2010 draft, thanks in no small part to Essendon's stubborn refusal to trade with us for Bachar Houli. Luckily for us, we landed both Houli and Helbig and the Bombers missed out on the player they'd been lining up all along. Brad made his debut in round 1 of season 2011 and went on to play 10 games, averaging 10 disposals and 3 marks. Unfortunately his 2012 was largely ruined by injury, managing only 5 games late in the season. Indications from the club suggest that had Brad been fit for all of 2012, he would have found himself a regular in the side. Hopefully we can see this happen in 2013.

Helbig's primary attributes include a beautiful spearing kick, a fierce attack on the footy and a fanatical need to tackle. He has also been seen to bang long ones from outside 50. With these skills, it goes without saying that he is a favourite of Dimma.

Produced another standout performance, playing through the midfield. His hardness at the ball, and opposition players, has been a real feature of his game since returning from injury during the pre-season. We look forward to seeing him return to AFL football soon.
