I have just about lost hope of cumberland making it at AFL level
as others have mentioned its no longer Dimma doesnt like him and Mini and now Yze are all seeing what Dimma seen last 3 years

The guy has more issue's in his head than on the football field and his over reacting to any little injury really gets up my goat
Has the talent but not the determination to take him to the next level
Was incredibly clear when Dimma was still here too. One day people will get the idea that there's more to the game than they see on TV.

To be fair to Cumbo, from what I have seen this season in the VFL, he has been putting in a very genuine effort defensively. It is just that the bits we do see on TV are now not looking so flash as a result. Hopefully he can develop the ability to impact offensively whilst doing the non-negotiable defensive work as well. But he has just turned 23 so the clock is ticking for him.

I'll be honest, I was wrong on him. In his first year or two all I saw was a guy who would get under the opponent's skin with aggression but lacked any real ability to impact a contest.

He is now one of our most reliable players IMO (in terms of doing his role every week) and he's now having an impact on the scoreboard too which is awesome.

Reminds me a little bit of Miers from the cats

May not always be the one who hits the scoreboard but sets up a lot of goals for his teammates, right now without looking at the actual numbers seems like he is one of our most reliable when picking out a target in our forward line to set up a scoring opportunity

Edit just looked it up
Number 1 at the club for direct goal assists

Well there you go, perfectly summed up! Happy for him to continue to fly under the radar tbh as his name is basically never mentioned. I actually thought he showed some really good signs last year too but from memory injury kind of cruelled him.

Yeah had a few games last year that looked really good

Did a great job on Stewart last year when we went against the cats

Reminds me of Jake King.

TIGER LOCKED IN

RHYAN Mansell has secured a new two-year deal to extend his time at Richmond.

The 23-year-old will remain at Punt Road until at least the end of 2026.

Mansell joined the Tigers via the pre-season supplemental selection period in 2021 after playing for Woodville-West Torrens in the SANFL.

The Tasmanian played 17 games last year and is now up to 41 AFL appearances, after adding nine games to his name to start 2024.

Mansell won't feature in Dreamtime at the 'G this Saturday night after entering concussion protocols in the loss to Brisbane last weekend. – Josh Gabelich

Great news. Has been one of the shining lights for us this year imo

Agree, he's competitive and fierce to the ball. Plenty of scope there for further improvement. This year will not be a complete write off if we are getting games into players like Mansell, Dow, Ralphsmith etc and those players improve and are retained on the list. The biggest disaster would be to play all these guys and then still end up with a North Melbourne style cull that year where they delisted half their squad.

I think he has some good games in him in a fully functioning team. He started the year more promisingly when we had more of a forward line.

I love Mansell's approach, attack. But he is now "best 22" for a second season. now under Yze.

The selectors obviously believe whatever traits 3 small forwards bring is enough, I'm a broken record...scoreboard pressure, scoreboard pressure. D. Rioli, Butler and Castagna marked, kicked goals, tackled. A goal a game each.

MRJ has improved & Campbell back in the side, had a good start to the year, and seems to be a selectors fave.

Dow hasn't been dropped. & Hugo may have saved his career with some good games.

2 year contract for a player of his ability is a terrible idea.

Assuming it will be on low money.

He's a role player and a short-term option at best.

Who would have thought Ryhan Mansell would have a better Career than Tarryn Thomas
